Linge to Head Senergy Oslo Office
Senergy has reinforced its growing Norwegian footprint by opening new business premises in Oslo. The company has also appointed highly-regarded industry figure, Frode Linge, to head up its new regional office as project/asset manager. The announcement comes just months after Senergy opened major new business and training premises in Stavanger to meet the increasing demand for its technical solutions and wells expertise in Norway. Øystein Roti, Senergy AS’s managing director, said: “Norway has rapidly emerged as a key province for Senergy in terms of the company’s international growth as well as its fast-expanding track record for the delivery of high-value technical and consultancy solutions. In Stavanger alone, we have experienced strong growth in our business and, as a result, increased staff numbers by 25% in the past two months. “We want to continue to strategically build on our Scandinavian footprint and are fast achieving our vision of doubling the size of our Norwegian operations by 2012 for a second consecutive year. Establishing a presence in Oslo will contribute considerably to consolidating future expansion. Senergy has a strong and growing portfolioof clients in Oslo, and the office is situated in close proximity to them and the transport infrastructure which gives us access to Stavanger and Senergy’s wider global network.”
Roti said that attracting someone of Frode’s stature also significantly strengthens the company’s position in Oslo: “Frode is a prominent industry figure, particularly in his native country of Norway. He has an impressive breadth of technical and business development expertise, and is extremely well-connected. Senergy always aims to have the right people in place and Frode will play a pivotal role in driving forward the Oslo operation’s growth.”Frode will initially lead a team of three people at Senergy’s Oslo office which is located at Regus’s recently-opened Aker Brygge business centre. The facility, which also includes training facilities, will accommodate further growth as Senergy anticipates doubling staff numbers within six months.
"Senergy has built a solid reputation in Norway where, in Oslo, we are working with various clients from small to mid size operators” said Frode. “The company has become renowned for the innovative way it works, having harnessed its market-leading position by focusing on the delivery of its niche services which include drilling project management, complete well engineering and well operations. This is mirrored by Senergy’s track record in West Europe and globally. “I’m joining Senergy at a very exciting time and am looking forward to building on its strong Norwegian credentials by developing the Oslo operation and working closely with the Stavanger team. I share Senergy’s ambitious vision for growth and aim to establish Senergy as the ‘preferred’ service provider to small and medium size oil and gas companies in the Oslo area. This will be achieved through doing more business with existing customers, and by developing relationships and establishing new business with new customers.” Formerly a director of Energy Consulting, which is part of International Consultancy Company Ltd, Frode’s distinguished career spans more than 25 years working with oil major Shell around the world and Petroleum Development Oman. At Energy Consulting, Frode negotiated agency agreements for companies in global regions where they did not have a presence as well as conducting oil trading. Prior to this, he was business development manager for Shell E&P Moscow, Russia, where he was responsible for securing new business opportunities ranging from new ventures and mature fields to minority equity holdings in companies. Frode, who speaks fluent English as well as conversational Russian and German, has predominantly worked for Shell where he started his career as a petroleum engineer for Shell International in The Hague, the Netherlands, before becoming a wellsite operations engineer for Shell Brunei. Having gone on to establish strong credentials in reservoir engineering, Frode’s career path then evolved into business development which included strategic analysis and planning of assets, and applying his technical and commercial expertise to develop key business models.
