Engineering and Design for Lean Shipbuilding
New business paper describes how the marine industry can develop Lean methodologies to press on in lean times.
AVEVA has announced its publication of a new business paper – ‘Engineering & Design for Lean Shipbuilding’. In this paper, AVEVA examines how engineering and design information can be readily shared to enable a highly efficient, concurrent workflow that progressively refines a design in a controlled, iterative manner to ensure ‘right-first-time’ fabrication and assembly. For shipbuilders, such Lean business processes offer a means of sustaining profitability and reducing business risk in a challenging market.
