RWO’s CleanBallast technology

RWO’s CleanBallast technology

The broad portfolio of marine water technologies has secured another contract for RWO GmbH in its expanding field of ballast water treatment units.

The Bremen-based company, a subsidiary of VeoliaWater Solutions & Technologies, has announced that German shipyard Flensburger Schiffbau Gesellschaft mbH & Co KG (FSG) has ordered RWO’s ballast water as well as sewage treatment systems for two newbuilds.

“RWO’s long term operational experience in ballast water treatment is something that makes the company outstanding in the meanwhile longer row of BWTS manufacturers. With many units already running in commercial operation, CleanBallast can certainly be considered as a proven technology”, Jann Kruse, Head of Purchase of FSG commented contentedly on the contract. “Associated with their well-conceived product range, we had the possibility to get crucial water systems for the newbuilds out of one hand.”

RWO can confirm an increasing interest in one-stop shopping deals. “The demand for various highlevel and reliable water treatment products obtainable from one single OEM has been clearly visible throughout the year” says Peter Wolf, Director of Sales & Marketing, “something we are ideally placed to fulfil with our broad range of cost-effective and well-proven water treatment solutions.” The company has a wealth of experience in the marine sector, having started its business in the marine water technology branch over 35 years ago. To date more than 20 different products are offered, covering almost all areas of water treatment aboard both ships and offshore platforms. As well as ballast water treatment systems, RWO’s range also includes wastewater treatment, oil-waterseparation, freshwater treatment and the handling of process water. RWO’s CleanBallast technology gained official type approval from the German BSH in 2010; applications for the USCG AMS and USCG approval were made in mid-2012.
