The Company:
Conrad Shipyard was established in 1948 and is headquartered in Morgan City, Louisiana. The company designs, builds and overhauls tugboats, ferries, liftboats, barges, offshore supply vessels and other steel and aluminum products for both commercial and government markets. The company provides both repair and new construction services at its five Gulf Coast shipyards located in southern Louisiana and Texas. Widely recognized for innovation, Conrad has a separate business unit devoted to the construction, design and development of LNG projects including transport barges, dual-powered towboats and other LNG applications. Conrad has an experienced workforce and a management team sharply focused on customer satisfaction. The company has a deep commitment to the health, safety and personal growth of its employees and uncompromising standards of environmental consciousness. Conrad Shipyard was founded by Parker Conrad, whose founding principles were Quality, Craftsmanship, Integrity and Service. These principles have filtered down through every level of the organization, and are responsible for the company’s distinguished reputation as one on the Gulf of Mexico’s most respected shipbuilders. The firm operates five Gulf Coast Shipyards and has about 900 employees.
