Shipboard Technology Evaluation Program

The U.S. Coast Guard issued a Notice announcing availability of the Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA) regarding the Shipboard Technology Evaluation Program (STEP). The purpose of STEP is to facilitate development of effective ballast water treatment technologies to protect coastal and inland waters against unintentional introduction of nonindigenous species via ballast water discharges. 69 Fed.
