KOTUG Assists LNG Vessels at Brunei Terminal
As from the start of October 2014, KOTUG is assisting all LNG vessels at the Brunei LNG Terminal with three powerful Rotortugs. Brunei Shell Petroleum Company awarded KOTUG as its exclusive towage provider with a 24/7 operation, supported by local management.
Three 80-ton-plus bollard pull strong tugs of the Rotor concept are in charge for the berthing and unberthing operations of LNG tankers, standby services during loading, oil spill response and firefighting duties. The Rotortugs: RT Champion, RT Leader and RT Tasman were recently mobilized from Europe to Asia.

Kooren continued,“This is another significant milestone for us as earlier this year our Joint Venture Company KT Maritime Services Australia PTY Ltd. was awarded the prestigious Shell Prelude Project, offshore Australia for three Infield Support Vessels, again based on the successful Rotortug Concept, to support the operation of the world’s first Floating Liquefied Natural Gas project.”

KOTUG said it will further expand its fleet capacity. During the coming months, six new Rotortugs are to be delivered, of which two hybrid versions (E-KOTUG), will be added to the KOTUG Fleet in Europe.
