Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

December 19, 2005

The purpose-built livestock carrier, the Becrux, has loaded its two millionth sheep since its maiden voyage in June 2002. Loaded in Fremantle, Australia, at the end of November this year, it also marked the 43rd voyage out of Australia by the Becrux in just 42 months of operation. Built in Croatia in 2002, the Becrux is capable of carrying around 75,000 sheep, 14,000 cattle or a combination of both. To ensure the safety, welfare and comfort of all the animals onboard, it is fitted with automated feed systems, a fresh water producing system, temperature controls, powerful ventilation systems and spacious one-tier enclosures.
