Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

April 12, 2011

According to a report from Trinidad Express Newspapers, the government is currently in talks with the U.S., Italy and Spain to secure vessels to patrol local waters and provide naval protection and surveillance. This follows cancellation of a contract with BAE Systems, signed by the People's National Movement administration in 2007 with VT Shipbuilding to build and commission three OPV's at a cost a £150 million.
