Raytheon Appoint Vecchiolla Business President
Raytheon says it has appointed Thomas A. Vecchiolla as president, Raytheon International, Inc., effective immediately.
In his new role, Vecchiolla will be responsible for leading Raytheon's international business team worldwide. Vecchiolla will report to John Harris, vice president, business development, Raytheon Company, and CEO, Raytheon International, Inc. and will be based in Washington, DC.
"Tom's impressive depth of industry knowledge and strong customer relationships, combined with his political expertise and military background, provide him with a strong foundation to advance Raytheon's focus on global growth and customer success," said Harris.
Raytheon explain that Vecchiolla joined the firm in 2002 from Commerce One e-Government Solutions and has held positions of increasing responsibility within the company's Integrated Defense Systems business. Most recently he was vice president, business development and strategy, responsible for customer focused marketing and accountable for developing and implementing business strategies to create and win global business.
Prior to joining Raytheon, Vecchiolla served as legislative assistant and principal advisor for national security and military affairs to Sen. Olympia Snowe, then a leading Member on the Senate Armed Services Committee. A graduate of the Naval Academy, Vecchiolla retired from active duty after 22 years of service, achieving the rank of Captain.
