Nor-Lines, Rolls-Royce Sign Service Agreement
Nor Lines and Rolls-Royce have signed a āPower-by-the-Hourā service agreement for the two vessels Kvitbjørn and Kvitnos. The new service offering harnesses the power of ābig dataā to monitor, plan and perform maintenance and repairs on all the equipment it has installed on the cargo vessels. Power-by-the-Hour is a completely new service from Rolls-Royce Marine, and the agreement with Nor Lines is the first of its kind.
Hapag Lloyd Completes Merger with UASC
German shipping line Hapag Lloyd and Arab sector peer UASC have completed a delayed merger which creates the world's fifth-biggest shipping company. The German company said on Wednesday that the deal to combine the two businesses, announced in April 2016 and sealed in July last year, has closed and been listed in commercial registers as of May 24, including a capital increase of 45.9 million euros.

Towing Vessel Runs Aground in Louisiana
An uninspected towing vessel taking on water has run aground in Louisianaās Calcasieu Ship Channel, early Monday morning. At 3:45 a.m., the three-man crew aboard the 60-foot towing vessel Mr. Landon intentionally ran the vessel aground near Monkey Island to avoid sinking when they realized they were taking on water in the stern. No injuries were reported. Approximately 10 gallons of oil was spilled as a result of the incident. Clean up efforts were coordinated by U.S.
NYC's New Ferries Take to the Water
