Art Anderson Associates recently hired six new employees in order to keep pace with an increasing project workload.

The new employees are Bill Higgins, Ed Cuaron, Greg Jennings, Todd Allen, Tinisha Rockiett, and Zach Wonderly.

Bill Higgins is an Electrical Engineer with over forty years of industry experience. A former employee of Art Anderson Associates from 1980-1997, Higgins returns to the company in order to fill the need for a new professionally-licensed electrical engineer. He will be providing his expertise for both facilities and marine projects, including the firm’s ongoing work to provide engineering support for vessel and terminal security improvements for Washington State Ferries.

Ed Cuaron joins the firm as a Technical Assistant to the company’s facilities division. In his previous position at DePaul Industries, Cuaron provided administrative support to the Public Works Engineering Department Kitsap-Bremerton and various codes throughout Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Naval Base Kitsap-Bremerton. He has in-depth experience preparing work packages and specifications, performing document quality control and managing technical and reference libraries and will be performing those same functions for facilities projects in his new position at Art Anderson Associates.

Greg Jennings is a Naval Architect with a background in military and high-speed vessel design. His most recent work experience was in support of the Special Purpose Ships directorate at the Computer Sciences Corporation’s Advanced Marine Center. In that role, he was an active participant in the military’s Joint High Speed Vessel Program, where he was responsible for aspects of code compliance, general arrangements and performance calculations. Newbury’s experience will be vital to the continued success of Art Anderson Associates’ multiple Navy research contracts for high speed transport vessels and seabasing technologies.

Todd Allen is a Senior Ocean Engineering major at the Florida Institute of Technology, where he has emphasized coursework in naval architecture and underwater technology. He has previous working experience as a research analyst for a multi-year research initiative for an underwater autonomous vehicle that grew from his senior design project. Other research assistance experience involves solving traction issues for an underwater crawler. Allen will be participating in Art Anderson Associates’ “Extra Nautical Mile” internship program, which is designed to give him both technical and leadership experience in the marine industry.

Tinisha Rockiett is a Senior at Bremerton High School and will be participating in the Office Occupations Program at Olympic College in the fall. Rockiett is active in her school and community as a member of the Naval JROTC, where she recently earned the corps’ Academic Award. She will be mentored by administrative and accounting personnel as she gains valuable experience that will supplement her education in business.

Zach Wonderly is a Drafter and Modeler with experience in AutoCAD and Rhinoceros. He is currently a student at Olympic College, where he is pursuing an engineering degree. Wonderly was the valedictorian of his high school class and is passionate about growing his education in the engineering field. His role is to support the engineering staff by revising various drawings and designs as changes are made and providing other assistance as needed.
