Technology enterprise Boll & Kirch said one of its product innovations, the Bollfilter Automatic Type 6.18.3, recently helped SunRui Marine Environment Engineering, based in Qingdao, China, qualify for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) certificate.

Since the beginning of 2016, ballast water management systems (BWMS) of ships discharging ballast water at American ports have had to comply with special USCG regulations. SunRui's BalClor BWMS system, which relies on Boll & Kirch's innovative ballast water filtration technology, has now been certified by the authority.

"We are proud to offer automatic filters such as the Bollfilter Automatic Type 6.18.3 that are unique in terms of performance and quality", says Boll & Kirch CEO Stefan Starke. "The certification by the United Coast Guard is yet another endorsement of our continuous quest for ambitious, innovative filtration solutions and substantiates the impeccable functionality of our Bollfilter automatic series." Xu Fengqi, Vice General Manager of the Ship Department and Head of Design of Sun Rui, is also excited about the certificate: "We know, appreciate and trust the special product and performance know-how of the German company. Boll & Kirch’s individual product solutions in ballast water management for complex tasks are particularly noteworthy."

The Bollfilter  Automatic Type 6.18.3 is a part of the Bollfilter automatic water filter series with operational experience and expertise in various industrial applications for more than 40 years. The quality and performance of the Bollfilter  Automatic is based on a compact and robust design which makes it extremely durable and easy to maintain. The variability of the technology allows an optimized configuration of the ballast water filter for the specific requirements and conditions of the individual application. As such, significant cost benefits can be achieved. The Bollfilter  Automatic Type 6.18.3 is convincing, both in terms of technical and economic performance by meeting the most stringent requirements.
