L-3 Gets Navy Contracts

According to the AP, L-3 Communications Holdings Inc., has received two contracts with the U.S. Navy for $39.4m to extend service on five ships. The service life extension program has a maximum contract value of $94 million and extends service by 10 years to 30 years.

The extension program includes hull repair and refurbishment; main engine upgrades; installation of a new skirt system and upgrades to the communications and navigation systems. L-3 will implement upgrades and modifications to the five crafts beginning this year, with options for six additional crafts beginning in fiscal 2007.
