Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

April 7, 2009

Seattle-based Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. announces the acquisition of a Saab Seaeye Cougar XT ROV, adding substantial capacity to their existing fleet of underwater vehicles. The Cougar XT, depth rated to 2,000 meters, will be fully outfitted with two five-function manipulators, high resolution cameras, fast scanning sonar and a digital altimeter. A detachable tool skid equipped with 9 kW power supply provides hydraulic power for the manipulator package and a suite of specialized tools, which can be easily installed and changed as needed. The vehicle is configured so that it can be deployed either via a Tether Management System or in a “free swimming” mode.

The Cougar provides work class capabilities to Global’s current fleet of inspection class ROVs. In addition to the Cougar XT, assets include a Phantom DHD2+2, a Spectra DS 4, a Phantom S-2, a Video Ray Pro 3 XE and an Inuktun Versatrax Pipe Crawler. Global also maintains an array of navigation and positioning systems to support its remote technology operations.
