Dometic Expands Network to Gulf of Mexico
Dometic Marine established a new base in the Gulf of Mexico as part of its strategy to target further business in the commercial sector.
The addition of the facility in Slidell, La. to its extensive global network places the HVAC and toilet systems specialist at the heart of the United States’ commercial market.
Driven by the current boom in the oil and gas industry, the shipyards are facing a surge in demand for oilfield-related orders including Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs) and Dometic Marine is now perfectly positioned to respond to the needs of Gulf shipyards, according to the company.
As suppliers of durable and robust equipment which is specifically designed for commercial applications, Dometic Marine said its increased presence in a region of such huge importance as a source of oil and natural gas will help to facilitate contract opportunities to supply equipment for OSVs, rigs and platform supply vessels.
Nathan Farr, OEM Account Manager, Dometic Marine, said, “The new office in Slidell has already improved our customer service and response times to our existing clients and we are confident that it will help us to secure new business in sectors such as oil and gas, military, government and other areas in the commercial market.”
“The Gulf of Mexico is the center of the commercial market in the U.S., with a concentrated number of shipyards to service the oil and gas industry,” he continued. “Our increased presence in this important region will increase our commercial market share and provide a higher level of customer support.”
Dometic Marine has a line of air conditioning systems to handle and suit a variety of vessels, from its high-capacity chilled water systems to its smaller self-contained systems, the company said.
The company has 36 sales offices covering 28 countries.
