Hinckley Yacht Services, the newly renamed Little Harbor full service complex here, has announced the appointment of David Frank as electronics department supervisor, establishing the department as a full service dealership. He will be assisted by Roger Bernard as electronics service manager.

Previously, electronics work at Little Harbor was subcontracted out to vendors and technicians in the Portsmouth area. "These men have been working in the marine electronics business for over 25 years so they know the clientele and the demands of the job," said Geoff Prior, operations manager of the yard.

Frank brings 17 years of experience as a marine electronics technician. He has attended training seminars for the latest top-of-the-line manufacturers such as Furuno, Northstar, B&G, Seatel, and Raytheon. He served as electronics manager for America's Cup campaigns in the last three America's Cups and held the position of first class technician for the U.S. Coast Guard. From 1992 to the present, Frank has owned and operated his own marine electronics contracting firm, Marine Systems Integration, focusing on high-end electronic systems and computer integration.

Bernard also brings 17 years of marine electronics experience to the job. He has worked with a variety of boats, ranging in size from large commercial fleets to every type of pleasure craft. Bernard is a senior grade certified marine electronics technician (CMET) and both Bernard and Frank are FCC licensed technicians with radar endorsement.

The new electronics department will expand Hinckley's product line to include all major marine electronics manufacturers in order to meet the needs of all service clients as well as new boat construction. With the Little Harbor WhisperJets® and Hinckley Talaria® 29 "Center Console" jet boats being built in Portsmouth, this expanded operation will be responsible for the installation of new systems as well as the sales, service and repair of existing systems.
