ExxonMobil Marine Fuels has confirmed that its marine fuels will continue to meet or surpass the requirements of the new ISO Marine Fuel specifications. The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) has recently published Edition 3 of ISO 8217 Petroleum Products - Fuels (class F) - Specifications of Marine Fuels. ISO 8217:2005(E) replaces ISO 8217:1996 as the standard by which marine fuel oils are traded internationally. Andrew Wescoat, Global Director of ExxonMobil Marine Limited, says, "We have already been supplying marine fuels that consistently meet or surpass the requirements of the new specifications as part of our guaranteed product quality programme. Our customers can rest assured that the products they receive in future will continue to meet these exacting standards." All the revised ISO grade nomenclature has been incorporated in the new 'ExxonMobil Marine Fuels Specifications' (effective 1 January 2006). This publication also includes ExxonMobil MFO 500, a 500 cSt at 50*C grade fuel oil not included in ISO 8217:2005(E), but currently on offer in Antwerp, Fos and Singapore.
