Coast Guard Foundation's Gift to Station Fort Pierce

 

At a presentation earlier today the Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education and welfare of all Coast Guard members and their families presented a $10,000 gift to Coast Guard Station Fort Pierce, Fort Pierce, Florida. The funds will be used to provide kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and camping and fishing gear for the 45 active duty members and 15 reservists, and their families based at this Coast Guard station.

Foundation staff member Brian Overcast and Foundation board member VADM Sally Brice-O’Hara, USCG (Ret.) thanked Dyer Chevrolet and the Dyer family, who made the gift possible through a donation to the Coast Guard Foundation. Mr. David Dyer, also a Coast Guard Foundation board member, was joined at the acknowledgement by his wife Harriett Dyer, and children John, Dyer, and Will and Tatiana Dyer.

 “This generous gift from Dyer Chevrolet will make a real difference for Coast Guard members and their families stationed here at this busy Coast Guard station,” said Overcast. “We’re honored to support those who so selflessly serve our country and put their lives on the line so others may live.”

The USCG Commanding Officer of Station Fort Pierce, Chief Warranty Officer Randy Ryan, accepted the gift from the Coast Guard Foundation. Coast Guard Station Fort Pierce is located on South Hutchinson Island and serves the area with three small boats – two 33-foot vessels and one 45-foot response boat. Their mission includes maritime law enforcement, search and rescue operations, fish and wildlife protection, migrant interdiction and safety for the boating
