Fatigue to Blame for Barrier Reef Grounding

 According to a report from ABS News, the final investigation into the grounding of a Chinese coal carrier on the Great Barrier Reef last year has found fatigue was a major factor in causing the accident. The Shen Neng 1 ran aground in April at Douglas Shoal off Rockhampton, seriously damaging its hull and spilling more than three tonnes of heavy fuel oil into the water.
