Panama Canal Voted Among Most Trusted Institutions

According to the latest AmericasBarometer survey, the Panama Canal Authority is considered one of the most trusted institutions in Panama. The survey is coordinated by Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The Panama Canal has a 69.8% trust index.

In the previous survey, conducted in 2010, the Panama Canal was also ranked among the top-rated organizations with a 70%.

The results are based on a survey conducted among 1,500 Panamanians throughout the country. The survey has a 2.5% margin of error.

The AmericasBarometer survey takes place every two years since 1991. It currently covers 26 nations from North, Central and South America and the Caribbean
