Seabulk International Elects Thyssen as VP

Seabulk International, Inc. announced the election of Hubert E. Thyssen as Corporate Vice President, effective immediately. Thyssen, who joined the company in 1997 when it acquired the 36-vessel Care Offshore fleet of Nyon, Switzerland, will continue to serve in his capacities as Senior Vice President of International Marketing for the 133-vessel Seabulk Offshore fleet and as Managing Director of Seabulk Offshore's operations in West Africa, Europe and South America. "Hubert Thyssen is a well-known figure in the international oil services industry and a premier marketer," commented Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Gerhard E. Kurz. "He has managed operations in West Africa, Southeast Asia and South America and is at home in virtually all of the major oil-producing regions of the world. This appointment recognizes his important role in the Company and the fact that he is our international ambassador to the worldwide offshore energy services industry." Thyssen has more than 20 years' experience in international shipping and offshore marine services, having served as Marketing Director and Managing Director for various entities within the Care Offshore organization prior to joining Seabulk. Previously, he served for nine years with Saunier Maritime SARL of Marseilles, France, a shipbrokering and ship's agent firm. Thyssen was educated at College Catholique and the University of Law in Aix en Provence, France, and served in the French Air Force for two years. Fluent in three languages, he is a member of AFTP (Association Francaise du Petrole) and Vice President of the Propeller Club of Geneva, Switzerland. Thyssen is a French citizen and resides in Nyon, Switzerland.
