Whether a simple wear plate or machined into a complex, multi-faceted shape, many projects call for a material of substantial thickness. Vesconite and Vesconite Hilube plate stock is now available in sizes up to 4" thick.

The plates are available up to 8" wide and 10' long. Because stock can be ordered close-to-size, machining time and costs are reduced.

Vesconite and Vesconite Hilube are self-lubricating and have no stick-slip, so grease is unneeded. This is an important environmental consideration with increasing regulation, such as the EPA's Uniform National Discharge Standards. It's also safer, as load tension isn't built and released unexpectedly.

Even under dirty, grimy conditions, the polymers have excellent wear properties—more than 10 times that of bronze. Unlike nylon, they don't swell in water. They're commonly used as a bushing material for all manner of application. Recently, the company produced a bearing over 52' in diameter for a hydroelectric project.

The polymers have outstanding dimensional stability and high compression strength. Vesconite and Vesconite Hilube machines easily to tight tolerances of +/-0.001".

Vesconite bears type approval certifications from ABS, Bureau Veritas, China Corporation Register of Shipping, Det Norske Veritas, Germanische Lloyds, Korean Register of Shipping, Lloyds Register and Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. It is accredited to ISO 9001.

Rods, bushes and plates are offered in a wide selection of dimensions and thicknesses. Custom machining is also available. Vesconite has 55 lathes and machining centers, including a 5-axis vertical CNC machine that accommodates stock up to 120" x 40" x 30".
