China’s Wuhan Ship Development and Design Institute (WSDDI) extended its FORAN contract with SENER.

At the end of December 2014, WSDDI signed a contract with SENER’s partner in Beijing, United Force Corporation (UFC), about additional licenses of FORAN system and relevant services. The extended licenses include FORAN packages of Hull Structure, Machinery & Outfitting, Electrical, Drafting, Import/Export JT, FORAN-PLM Link and FORAN-FEM Link.

WSDDI is one of the most influential design offices in China with more than 50 years of experience in the design of all kind of vessels and other marine activities. Since FORAN was implemented in WSDDI five years ago, FORAN has been a main design tool in the company and has been used in important projects.

SENER said its marine unit is strengthening its presence in Asia, as China, Japan and South Korea are currently the worldwide leaders in shipbuilding.
