The U.S. Navy has awarded General Dynamics Electric Boat a $7 million contract to begin advanced planning for maintenance, repair and alterations on the USS Augusta (SSN-710). Electric Boat is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics. The work to be performed on the Augusta -- known as an Interim Dry Docking -- will be completed at Electric Boat from Nov. 4, 2003, through March 19, 2004. The total value of this work will be $34 million.
