Deltamarin Bags Ro-pax Design Contract

Deltamarin Ltd has signed a contract with Chinese Guangzhou Shipyard International Co, Ltd (GSI) for consultancy and engineering services for the DFDS ro-pax ferries. Deltamarin earlier carried out contract design of the ship concept for GSI in cooperation with the owner. Deltamarin will provide the yard with basic (approval) and detail design together with Safe Return to Port (SRtP) documentation. The contract covers all disciplines and all areas. The value of Deltamarin’s contract with GSI is about €5 million ($6.2 million). The work will be carried out at Deltamarin’s offices in Finland and China with the assistance of network companies from Europe over an estimated period of 13 months.

Deltamarin Joins Design Team of Finnish Navy Project

Deltamarin Ltd said it has signed contracts with shipbuilder Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) for the basic design of deck outfitting and machinery for the vessels to be built in the Finnish Navy’s Squadron 2020 project. The Squadron 2020 project will replace seven vessels, which have already been (e.g. the minelayer Pohjanmaa) or are scheduled to be decommissioned. The Navy’s capabilities will be upgraded to counter modern threats by procuring four multi-role corvettes. The main features of the vessels will be the capacity for year-round and long-endurance presence at sea in all the weather and ice conditions of the Baltic Sea, command and control of maritime operations, anti-surface warfare in the open sea, mine-laying at sea and anti-submarine warfare.

Deltamarin Wins Contract for Viking Line Newbuild

Deltamarin Ltd said it has signed contracts with Chinese shipbuilder Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd (XSI) for engineering and construction support services for the Viking Line Liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuelled ro-pax vessel newbuilding. The contracts cover basic and detail design as well as comprehensive project management support and supervision services to the shipyard during vessel construction. The new ro-pax vessel for Viking Line will have a passenger capacity of 2,800 people, and the length of its cargo lanes will be 1,500 meters.

Deltamarin Integrates Floating Construction Arm

The operations and personnel of Deltamarin Floating Construction (DMFC) were integrated into Deltamarin Ltd. on June 1, 2017, in a move that aims to help simplify the group’s structure.   The services and activities previously provided by DMFC will continue within Deltamarin Ltd. under a newly formed department called Project Technology Services led by Jari Mäki.

Deltamarin Designed Ro-pax Vessel for Mols-Linien

Deltamarin Ltd is to provide the Finnish Rauma Marine Constructions Oy shipyard with design services for a ro-pax vessel to be built for the Danish Mols-Linien A/S. Deltamarin’s scope of work includes basic and detail design of the hull outfitting, machinery and cargo areas. The new 158-metre ro-pax vessel will be designed and optimised to carry passengers and cargo between the Danish islands of Bornholm and Sjaelland. The cargo capacity will be 1,500 lane metres. Construction will start in spring 2017 and the vessel will enter service in autumn 2018. Deltamarin has previously developed technical outline material for Mols-Linien for the purpose of yard tendering. “This ship contract is very important for Rauma Marine Constructions.

New 'Mega Passenger Ship' for Star Cruises

Elomatic Ltd and Deltamarin Ltd have signed a tri-party engineering contract with shipbuilder MV Werften for the design of Star Cruises’ new Global Class “mega passenger ship,” which, once completed, will be the largest passenger vessel ever built in Germany. The new cruise liner will measure over 340 meters long, 45 meters wide and have a gross register tonnage of 200,001. The general arrangement plans for the Global Class cruise ships were completed with Foreship Oy (Foreship) in June following Genting Hong Kong’s purchase of the MV Werften shipyards in April.

DeltaLangh Bought by Langh Tech

Langh Tech has bought Deltamarin Ltd’s share of the previously jointly owned DeltaLangh Ltd, which manufactures scrubbers and water treatment systems. “The cooperation with Deltamarin continues and Deltamarin Floating Construction can still provide turnkey scrubber installations,” said Laura Langh-Lagerlöf. Deltamarin to Designs First LNG Handysize Bulk Carriers

Deltamarin Ltd proudly announces that it has signed a contract to design the world’s first LNG handysize bulk carriers, which will point the way towards greener shipping of commodities. The two B.Delta26LNG vessels will be constructed for the Finnish shipowner ESL Shipping Ltd by the Chinese Qingshan Shipyard of Sinotrans & CSC SBICO. Gas Carrier Concept Stems from Bulker Design

Deltamarin Ltd and Brevik Technology AS, a VARD affiliate, have joined forces to develop a novel multigas carrier design concept that combines the design of Deltamarin’s B.Delta and the new-generation patented cylindrical gas tanks by Brevik Technology. Aframax Tanker Designed for Arctic Shipping

A modern Aframax-sized tanker concept designed for transporting crude oil and oil product in the Arctic has been developed via collaboration between Deltamarin Ltd. and Aker Arctic Technology Inc. Deltamarin Ltd. has provided Aker Arctic Technology Inc. with design services for two polar class heavy deck carrier ships intended for carrying heavy project cargos in large modules to Yamal LNG plant construction site on the Russian Yamal peninsula. Deltamarin Designs the Libra FPSO

Deltamarin Ltd. has entered into a contract with Jurong Shipyard Pte Ltd for the basic engineering of the Libra FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading unit). Deltamarin’s scope of work covers the marine part of the Navion Norvegia shuttle tanker conversion into the Libra FPSO. The conversion shall be performed at the Singaporean Jurong Shipyard, whose customer is OOGTK Libra GmbH & Co KG, a 50/50 joint venture between Odebrecht Oil & Gas and Teekay Offshore. Emissions Scrubber Receives Class Approval

Langh Ship received final class approval from Germanischer Lloyd for its exhaust gas cleaning system on m/s Laura (pictured), a 1996-built a 6,500 DWT general cargo vessel equipped with a 6 MW main engine. Langh Ship is a shipping company that has developed its own closed loop scrubber. The system uses caustic soda to neutralize the SOx in the exhaust gas and cleans the process water so that it can be led to the sea. The residual is collected in such a dry form that the compact waste can be transported to the nearest waste treatment plant.

Bore RoRo Ship to Get DeltaLangh Scrubber System

DeltaLangh has been assigned to deliver Deltamarin Floating Construction Ltd. with an exhaust gas cleaning (scrubber) system to be installed onboard the Ro-Ro vessel M/V Bore Song of Bore Ltd. The delivery consists of a combined closed and open loop scrubber system for 12MW engine output with the patented water treatment and dewatering plant. M/V Bore Song operates in the English Channel which is a part of the Sulphur Emission Control Area (SECA). From January 2015 all ships operating in the SECA area must limit their emissions to correspond to the use of fuel with a sulphur content of less than 0.1%. With the help of the DeltaLangh scrubber M/V Bore Song will meet these requirements.

Langh Ship received on July 17, 2014 final class approval from Germanischer Lloyd for its exhaust gas cleaning system on m/s Laura, a 1996-built a 6,500 DWT general cargo vessel equipped with a 6 MW main engine. “The technology had already been accepted earlier, but now the documentation is also finalized,” said Reino Verosaari, Senior Technical Adviser. Deltamarin Designs Car Carriers at Chinese Shipyard

Deltamarin Ltd. signed a contract with the Chinese Tianjin Xingang Shipbuilding Heavy Industry for Approval and Detail Design work for the two (plus two options) Post Panamax Car Carriers ordered by the Swedish shipowner Wallenius Lines. Prior to this contract, Deltamarin has already developed the Outline and Contract Design together with the shipyard for the owner. Tianjin Xingang shipyard has previously focused on building mainstream vessel types such as bulk carriers. With Deltamarin’s assistance, the yard managed to secure this newbuilding contract of a more sophisticated vessel type. The yard is also currently building 10 bulk carriers of Deltamarin’s B.Delta37 design: four vessels for French Louis Dreyfus Armateurs and six vessels for the US-based M.T. Maritime Management Group.

Deltamarin Wins Contract from Petrobras

The Brazilian oil company Petrobras has awarded the Finnish engineering company Deltamarin Ltd the concept study work for their FPDSO development. The contract contains concept design development. "Deltamarin won this contract because we have a very recent reference in this field namely FPDSO 'Dynamic Producer' for Petroserv, which is now under construction in Singapore at Sembawang Shipyard. Petroserv has a service agreement with Petrobras for Dynamic Producer," said Timo Granberg, Sales Director Offshore at Deltamarin. AVIC International will Acquire Deltamarin

The majority of the shares of Deltamarin Ltd are to be sold to AVIC International Investments Limited, a publicly listed company on the Singapore Stock Exchange. After the closing of the acquisition, Deltamarin’s existing operations will continue as they are and the business will remain independent keeping the name and the brand of Deltamarin unchanged. The aim of the intended new ownership structure is to enable Deltamarin’s solid growth in the marine and offshore oil and gas markets. The new owner to be, AVIC International Investments Limited, is a part of the AVIC Group. Its parent company AVIC is a global Fortune 500 company with approximately 500,000 employees.
