New Diving Training Ship Delivered to Tunisia
The Tunisian government has taken delivery of a new training ship, Zarzis A710, which will support diving and security works in air and sea areas of the Mediterranean. The vessel was built by Vittoria Shipyard SpA and commissioned by the Tunisian Defense Ministry as part of the Tunisian-Italian cooperation agreement signed in spring 2015. The Diving Support Vessel will be deployed by the Tunisian authorities as part of the stabilization and pacification operation in North Africa and the Mediterranean area.
Dyna-Mac to Build FPSO Topsides for Armada Cabaca
Dyna-Mac has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) from Armada Cabaca Ltd. worth approximately $48 million (USD) for the construction of six FPSO topsides modules. Armada Cabaca Ltd, an affiliate of Bumi Armada Berhad (Bumi Armada), a Malaysia-based international oilfield services provider to the oil and gas industry, contracted Dyna-Mac for a scope of work including detailed engineering and the fabrication of six units of topsides modules for an FPSO vessel that will be deployed at Eni’s Block 15/06 East Hub field, located 350 km northeast of Luanda in deep water offshore Angola. The topsides FPSO modules are scheduled to be delivered to the owner within the first quarter of 2016.

University to Design Fossil Fuel-Free Cargo Ship
Developments are underway at the University of Southampton to design the modern world’s first 100% fossil fuel free sailing cargo ships, in a project which aims to provide efficient and affordable low-carbon shipping in the face of rising fossil fuel prices and the global challenge of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The project combines proven technology and a state of the art dyna-rig sail propulsion system with an off the shelf Rolls-Royce engine powered by waste derived liquid biomethane (liquid gas). The ships are being developed by B9 Shipping, part of the B9 Energy group of companies, which has started work on a full-scale demonstration vessel validating the engineering and economic assumptions of the initial vessel design.

Our net profit grew by 14% to a new high of nearly $1.5 billion. This is the fifth year running that our net profit has surpassed the $1 billion mark. Also for the fifth consecutive year, our Return on Equity has remained above 20%. Economic Value Added has also increased to $1,024 million for the year. Keppel Acquires Stake in Dyna-Mac, Topside Module Fabricator
Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), through its wholly-owned subsidiary KS Investments Pte Ltd (KSI), has acquired a 27.77% stake (250,000,000 shares) in topside module fabricator Dyna-Mac Holdings Ltd (Dyna-Mac) via an equity placement. This follows Dyna-Mac's successful listing on the main board of Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (SGX) today. KSI's total investment is S$87.5 million based on the invitation price of 35 cents per share. The equity placement, through its investment vehicle KSI, is part of a collaboration between Keppel Shipyard (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel O&M) and Dyna-Mac to jointly pursue the topside module business beyond Singapore's shores.

While the market news from the passenger vessel industry has been anything but bright, a few shipyards are building new facilities to better serve their customer base. One of the best examples is Island Boats, Jeanerette, La., Island Boats formerly was located on a very dry patch of land overlooking Highway 90 near New Iberia, La. . After construction, their vessels had to be trucked to the Port of Iberia, several miles away. "The cost to us and inconvenience to others in the Port was becoming a major problem as our boats got bigger," said Miles Thomas, president of the firm. The firm solved this problem in May by moving to a six acre plot of land that backs up to Bayou Teche, approximately eight miles from the Baldwin Canal that has direct access to the Intercoastal waterway.
Bulker Blocks Brazil Entrance
The Hong Kong-flag bulker Dyna Gemini was blocking shipping at Sepetiba, Brazil, after running aground in the middle of the access/exit channel, Reuters reported. The 151,066-dwt bulker was carrying 170,000 tons of iron ore from Sepetiba for an unknown destination. Dyna Gemini was being assisted by tugs and a dredger. The Model 425 is available in ranges from 0-5,000 to 15,000 psi. The Model 424 is available in ranges from 0-15,000 to 20,000 psi. Both the 425 and 424 deliver accuracy of 0.2% (BFSL). Standard output is 4-20 mA (2-wire) with a supply voltage of 9-28 VDC. Each unit is RFI / EMI protected. Operating temperature is from -45 to 200 degrees F. The "ESX" Power sections provide high torque at very low speed for mud motors.
