Safebridge Adds Kelvin Hughes ECDIS Training

Online simulation training specialist Safebridge will launch a new training course for Kelvin Hughes MantaDigital Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS). Kelvin Hughes Marine Systems, a supplier of ships’ bridge systems, has appointed Safebridge and its sister company MSG MarineServe GmbH as authorized training providers for Kelvin Hughes ECDIS products. The new course is available online through the Safebridge cloud-based Internet infrastructure, on-board or as classroom-based training through the ECDIS Training Consortium (ETC) Network. The Safebridge online ECDIS training course includes guided lessons, open freeplay and a competency test.

Martek Launches On-board ECDIS Training

U.K.-based ECDIS manufacturer Martek Marine Ltd. has partnered with German ECDIS training supplier Safebridge GmbH and the ECDIS Training Consortium to deliver ‘Type Specific’ ECDIS training for crew members on-board vessels without internet access. The VTK (vessel training kit) for on-board computer based training without the need for internet connection will allow crew members to carry out their Type Specific Training without the pressure, cost or unreliability of internet connections whilst at sea. JRC Joins ETC, the ECDIS Training Consortium

JRC has significantly expanded its ECDIS training coverage by signing an agreement with ETC, the ECDIS Training Consortium, a group of globally trusted and valued training organizations. As a result, ECDIS type-specific training on JRC systems is now available in 30+ countries covering 6 continents. JRC and ETC have thereby increased their support to the shipping companies in the efficient utilization of training funds by offering training from a network of facilities located in the major maritime centers.

ETC Extends Training Program to SAM Electronics

ETC announce that it has now partnered with SAM Electronics to provide ECDIS training for the CHARTPILOT and ECDISPILOT, complementing SAM’s successful cooperation with Safebridge for online training, and thereby expanding SAM’s ECDIS training capabilities. ETC, the ECDIS Training Consortium, is a joint venture of training partners working under the patronage and control of MSG MarineServe GmbH, a  sister company of  Safebridge, to deliver courses that implement the identical ECDIS training program, adhere to consistent quality standards and are audited externally on a regular basis. ETC will use its established worldwide network to provide conventional, face-to-face, ECDIS training to meet local needs and improve the service to its global customer base.

MSG to Provide Simrad ECDIS Training Worldwide

MSG MarineServe GmbH, a  maritime training company, will act as the official ECDIS training agent for the Navico Simrad ECDIS systems. The ECDIS training will be provided by MSG and its ‘ECDIS Training Consortium’ (ETC) or by sister company Safebridge GmbH using its innovative, online simulation, E-learning courses. The courses will provide trainees with comprehensive instruction, leading to full certification upon completion, and also allow third party authorities and customers, such as Port State Control, to reference trainee database services.

ETC Offers ECDIS Training Through Local Partners

Danelec Marine Appoints MSG to Provide ECDIS Training Worldwide

MSG MarineServe GmbH announced that it has been appointed as official training agent by Danelec Marine to provide ECDIS training services locally and worldwide. The agreement with MSG includes ETC, MSG’s ECDIS Training Consortium, to ensure that Danelec is able to offer a complete equipment training service in support of its global customer base. The training provided by MSG and its ETC partners is configured on a single, comprehensive, training structure and methodology in order to guarantee the quality and consistency of the training, while allowing Danelec to monitor content, quality standards and recordkeeping through a single point of contact. “We are very pleased with the partnership with MSG and ETC,” said Hans Ottosen, Danelec CEO.

Simulation Companies Join to Teach ECDIS

Videotel, Safebridge and MSG join forces to offer a co-ordinated learning approach to ECDIS.   Maritime training software supplier Videotel joins hands with distance learning specialists Safebridge and MSG to offer the maritime community their ECDIS training courses, now updated to follow the latest IMO STCW amendments.   Deck officers who gain an interim certification of successful foundation training from Videotel, can progress to type-specific training and final certification by attending one of the training centres located strategically around the world that form part of the MSG controlled ECDIS Training Consortium (ETC).

MSG Contracts with Imtech to Cover ECDIS Training

MSG MarineServe GmbH contracts with Imtech Marine to cover their ECDIS training requirements worldwide. MSG is pleased to announce that it has reached agreement with Imtech Marine for the provision of ECDIS training services worldwide. Imtech had already reached agreement with MSG’s sister company, Safebridge, in March 2011 to entrust them with the creation of an E-learning training platform linked to their own ECDIS software for internet delivery;  this new agreement now entrusts its complete equipment training obligations to MSG and its worldwide support organization…
