Cargotec, JCE Invest AB Form Joint Bulk Business

Cargotec has signed an agreement with JCE Invest AB to establish a joint venture, Bruks Siwertell Group, specialised in dry bulk handling. The new joint venture will own Siwertell AB (previously part of Kalmar Business Area within Cargotec) and BRUKS Holding AB (previously part of JCE Group). Both companies are world-leading suppliers of bulk materials handling solutions. Cargotec will own 48% of the shares in Bruks Siwertell Group, and JCE Invest AB will own the rest, 52%. The ownerships are included to venturers' consolidated financial statements in accordance with the applicable regulation.

Kalmar FastCharge Shuttle Carrier at DP World London Gateway

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, and DP World London Gateway are celebrating the successful introduction into service of an electrically powered Kalmar FastCharge(TM) shuttle carrier, as part of a joint pilot project that will run for approximately six to 12 months. Kalmar has enjoyed a long and successful relationship with DP World, a leading global operator of marine and inland terminals. A semi-automated facility, DP World London Gateway is one of the most advanced deep-sea terminals in the world and is strategically located close to the United Kingdom's biggest consumption centre.

Shanghai International Port Group Buys Kalmar Equipment

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has secured an order to supply 15 units of container handling equipment to Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG).This order, including a total of 4 units of Reachstackers and 11 units of Empty Container Handlers, has been booked into the Cargotec 2018 second quarter order intake. Delivery of the machines is scheduled to take place in the third quarter of 2018.Founded in 2005, Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd. is the largest joint-stock port operator in China.

Kalmar and HHLA in Straddle Carrier Pact

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has concluded a deal with Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA), the leading European port and transport logistics group, to supply a total of 10 new straddle carriers.This brings the total number of Kalmar straddle carriers ordered by HHLA in the last two years to 30, further demonstrating the strong relationship with Kalmar and the company's commitment to Kalmar equipment. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 third quarter order intake, with delivery scheduled to take place in Q1 2019.

Kalmar to Supply SmartPower RTGs to Port of Buatan

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has concluded a deal with Riau Andalan Pulp & Paper (RAPP) to supply three Kalmar SmartPower rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) for its container yard at the Port of Buatan in Indonesia. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 first quarter order intake and delivery is scheduled to take place towards the end of Q4 2018. RAPP, a subsidiary of APRIL Group - one of the world's leading producers of pulp and fine papers - operates a pulp and paper mill in Riau Province on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

GMP Terminal de France Contracts Kalmar for Capacity Expansion

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded a contract to heighten four ZPMC ship-to-shore (STS) cranes operated by Generale de Manutention Portuaire (GMP), a joint venture between DP World and Terminal Link (CMA-CGM), located in the port of Le Havre.The order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 second quarter order intake, and the project is scheduled to commence in the 3rd quarter of 2018.Guy Sansone, Technical Director, GMP: "The decision to partner with Kalmar was placed mainly because of their proven track record and the technical expertise of their dedicated crane upgrades team.

Kalmar Sells Rough Terrain Handling Business

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed an agreement to sell its rough terrain handling business, Kalmar Rough Terrain Center (KRTC), to the management and a Texas-based investment group, led by Independent Bankers Capital Funds (IBCF) and Congruent Investment Partners, LLC (Congruent). The contract was signed and is effective as of 29 June 2018. Kalmar Rough Terrain Center is a specialised manufacturer of rough terrain material handling equipment for both the defense and commercial markets. It is also a manufacturer and distributor of parts and a service provider to existing equipment.

Kalmar Bags Chinese Reachstacker Order

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has received an order from China Railway Ürümqi Group Co., Ltd. to supply a total of 10 reachstackers. This order has been booked into Cargotec's second quarter 2018 order intake, with delivery scheduled to take place in the third quarter of 2018. The Ürümqi Railway Bureau is located in the core economic zone of the One Belt and One Road initiative and its railway line is the key connecting bridge for the new economic trade link between Asia and Europe.

Kalmar, DP World Southampton Pact for Hybrid Straddle Carriers

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a contract with DP World Southampton to supply 12 hybrid straddle carriers for use at their container terminal, said a press release.The Southampton agreement also includes maintenance and operator training as well as six months of on-site maintenance support. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 third quarter order intake, and delivery is scheduled for Q2 of 2019. DP World Southampton is the UK port of choice for many global leaders in the container shipping industry.

Kalmar STS for Curaçao Port Services

Kalmar, part of Cargotec has signed a contract for supplying two Kalmar Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes, including related spare parts, to Curaçao Port Services, said a press release.The Panamax size cranes will be used for modernising the customer's container handling operations at the Willemstad Container Terminal in Curaçao. The order was booked into Cargotec's 2018 third quarter order intake, and the delivery is planned to be completed by the end of 2019. The island of Curaçao is located strategically in the Southern Caribbean approximately 35 miles off the northwestern coast of Venezuela.

Kalmar to Open North American Customer Experience Center in North Charleston

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, broke ground on a Class A industrial build-to-suit project in North Charleston, S.C., with developer Landmark Enterprises on August 15, 2018. The new Customer Experience Center (CEC) will serve as a showroom, training facility, demonstration area and customer service center for Kalmar's North American mobile equipment business, including counterbalance and container handling products."The Kalmar sales team is eager to open this facility in the critical Charleston market," said Steve Cianci, Vice President, Mobile Equipment Solution Sales.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has won an order to provide Kalmar Fleet Solution of mobile equipment to Australian Container Freight Services (ACFS) operations in Adelaide, Fremantle and Melbourne.This order, comprising a total of three units of DCG100 Empty Container Handlers and two units of DRG450- Reachstackers, has been booked into Cargotec 2018 Q2 order intake.ACFS is the largest privately owned Container Logistics operator in Australia. Kalmar RMGs to Support Rotterdam Short Sea Terminals

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a contract with Rotterdam Short Sea Terminals (RST) to supply two Kalmar rail-mounted gantry (RMG) cranes with remote control and extensive customisation. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 second quarter order intake. The first crane will be delivered in Q4 of 2019 and the second during Q1 of 2020. Rotterdam Short Sea Terminals, located in the Port of Rotterdam, is the largest short sea shipping hub in Europe, with over 320 employees working around the clock to process over 800,000 containers each year.

Kalmar-Navis Intermodal Automation Solution for Moorebank Logistics Park

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, and Navis, part of Kalmar Business Area within Cargotec, have been awarded the contract to supply a state-of-the-art, fully automated intermodal terminal solution for Qube's Moorebank Logistics Park (MLP) in south-western Sydney. The order, valued at approximately EUR 80 million, includes the supply of the OneTerminal solution comprising Kalmar's automated train handling, automated yard crane and automated horizontal transportation equipment and the Navis N4 terminal operating system (TOS). It was booked into Cargotec's 2018 second quarter order intake.

Kalmar Key's Open Interfaces for Terminal Automation

Kalmar has announced Kalmar Key, the terminal industry's first automation platform with open interfaces. Kalmar Key provides a common system architecture for building an end-to-end, customised automation platform using Kalmar Terminal Logistics System (TLS) as a basis. The product opens the application-independent core software components of the Kalmar terminal automation system for use by developers, enabling terminal operators to extend their automation systems with any brand of equipment.

Kalmar Rolls Out New Range of Equipments

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, launches a new range of equipment designed to offer customers in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region a value-based choice of the high quality, reliable equipment that Kalmar is known for. Based on Kalmar's proven G-generation platform, the Essential range includes reachstackers, empty container handlers and forklifts. In addition, Kalmar introduces a new TL2 terminal tractor for the APAC customers. The range will be introduced during the Kalmar Sales and Dealer Conference in Hong Kong on 28-29 November.

Kalmar Signs Contract with PSA Corporation

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded a contract for the maintenance and repair of mobile equipment from PSA Corporation Ltd for the next 3-year term. The contract supports the overall maintenance effort of a fleet of up to 700 prime movers and trailer sets at Pasir Panjang Terminal. The contract has been booked into Cargotec's 2017 fourth quarter order intake. Trac-Wheels Signs Contract for 10 Kalmar Tractors

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a contract with  Malaysia-based supply and installation company Trac-Wheels (M) Sdn Bhd, for an order of ten units of Kalmar TL2 terminal tractor. The order was booked into Cargotec's 2017 fourth quarter order intake and it is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2018. The Kalmar TL2 terminal tractor is specifically built for Asia-Pacific and was launched to the market in November. Trac-Wheels will lease the new machines to its Miri Port and Tanjung Manis Port terminals in East Malaysia…

Kalmar Backs Suomen Satamatekniikka Oy

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a Kalmar Care service agreement with Suomen Satamatekniikka, a subsidiary of Steveco, covering the maintenance and service of 16 Kalmar straddle carriers at the Port of Helsinki, Finland. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2017 fourth quarter order intake and the agreement comes into effect from the beginning of February 2018. Steveco, a leading port operator in Finland, employs approximately 850 people and has annual revenues of close to EUR 160 million.

Kalmar to Send Five RTG Cranes to DCT Gdansk Terminal

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a deal with Deepwater Container Terminal (DCT) Gdansk to supply a total of five electrically powered rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) with extensive customisation. The order, which also includes the supply of a spare parts package for the machines, was booked in Cargotec's 2018 first quarter order intake and delivery is scheduled to take place in early 2019. DCT Gdansk is Poland's largest and fastest growing container facility, and the only deep-water terminal in the Baltic Sea region with direct ocean vessel calls from the Far East.
