Trac-Wheels Signs Contract for 10 Kalmar Tractors

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a contract with  Malaysia-based supply and installation company Trac-Wheels (M) Sdn Bhd, for an order of ten units of Kalmar TL2 terminal tractor. The order was booked into Cargotec's 2017 fourth quarter order intake and it is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2018. The Kalmar TL2 terminal tractor is specifically built for Asia-Pacific and was launched to the market in November. Trac-Wheels will lease the new machines to its Miri Port and Tanjung Manis Port terminals in East Malaysia…

Kalmar Signs Contract with PSA Corporation

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded a contract for the maintenance and repair of mobile equipment from PSA Corporation Ltd for the next 3-year term. The contract supports the overall maintenance effort of a fleet of up to 700 prime movers and trailer sets at Pasir Panjang Terminal. The contract has been booked into Cargotec's 2017 fourth quarter order intake. Peter McLean, Senior Vice-President of Kalmar Asia-Pacific, said: "We have been working with PSA on the maintenance of their equipment for more than 11 years.

Kalmar has won an order for seven rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes following a call for tender launched by the Algerian port procurement company Groupement D'Interêt Commun Des Entreprises Portuaires (GICEP). The value of the order is approximately EUR 10 million. Kalmar Bags order from ÖBB-Infrastruktur

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded a valuable order from long-standing partner Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB) to supply cargo handling equipment for general cargo and intermodal operation at the ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG terminals at Wolfurt, Wels and Wien Süd in Austria. The order was booked into Cargotec's 2015 second quarter order intake, with delivery scheduled to be completed by the fourth quarter. The range of equipment includes seven Kalmar Gloria reachstackers for intermodal handling, three Kalmar TT 618i terminal tractors and one Kalmar DCG 160-12 forklift.

Kalmar's First Order for Empty Container Handlers

Kalmar received an order from the Port of Vienna's WienCont Container Terminal for three new twin lift capability empty container handlers. Delivery and start-up is set for April 2017. The contract marks the first order of equipment from Kalmar's DCG80-100 empty container handler range, which was launched in Munich on 9 November. The new range offers customers the best lifetime value currently available on the market with better performance, greater reliability, less downtime and lower running costs for the machine.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has delivered nine Kalmar Gloria reachstackers to the Italian ro-ro and container shipping line Messina Group. The order includes a Kalmar Complete Care maintenance contract, which brings several advantages, such as financial predictability, operational excellence and the option to upgrade equipment after a fixed period. It was booked in Cargotec's 2016 third-quarter order intake, with delivery taking place in January 2017. Messina Group operates a fleet of eight specialised ro-ro container vessels with a total capacity of over 65,000 TEU.

Kalmar, Yilport Oslo Terminal Ink Service Deal

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, and the Yilport Oslo Terminal Investments AS in Norway, have signed a long term service agreement for Kalmar Optimal Care. The order was signed on 1 February 2016 and the Kalmar services team has already started working at the terminal. Based on the agreement, Kalmar has full responsibility for all maintenance activities at the terminal including maintenance management, service execution, logistics, spare part warehousing and 24/7 support. Kalmar Delivers RTGs to Evergreen

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has successfully delivered five rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes to Evergreen International Storage & Transport Corporation in Taiwan. The cranes will be used in Taoyuan Inland Container Terminal and Hsichih Inland Container Terminal. Evergreen International Storage & Transport Corporation offers inland container terminal services to customers all over Taiwan, including lifting operations and control of inbound and outbound containers; container repairing and cleaning service; and warehousing in the distribution center.

Port of LA's TracPac RMG Cranes to be Integrated by Kalmar

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded a contract for the integration of the controls for the new rail mounted gantry (RMG) cranes at the intermodal yard of TraPac Inc's terminal at the Port of Los Angeles. Kalmar explain that the RMGs will be supplied to TraPac by PACECO with the Kalmar Terminal Logistic System (TLS) ensuring they are integrated in the automated operations. TLS is part of the Kalmar SmartPort equipment automation portfolio. The intermodal yard is a substantial part of the terminal, with 30 percent of the TEUs shipped inland by rail.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has gained an order for two Super Gloria reachstackers from Tadarsa Logistics S.L. in Aviles, Spain. The largest reachstackers ever built, the Kalmar Gloria DRG1300-92ZX will have the capability of lifting 130 tonnes and will be utilised specifically to lift heavy wind turbine sections, which can weigh up to 260 tonnes. Kalmar's 18 Forklift Trucks for Algerian Ports

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is delivering 18 forklift trucks to four different port authorities in Algeria: Algiers, Bejaia, Djen Djen and Mostaganem. The order was awarded by the Algerian port procurement company, Groupement D'Interêt Commun Des Entreprises Portuaires (GICEP) in April 2014. The order inspection and customer training took place in October  and the deliveries to the ports have started. GICEP groups together all public ports in Algeria, handling approximately 800,000 TEU annually. Their operations also include stevedoring and general cargo handling.

Kalmar Negotiate Agreement for STS

Kalmar Industries and Lubbers’ Constructiewerkplaats en Machinefabriek Hollandia BV, are negotiating an agreement concerning the production of steel structures for ship-to-shore (STS) cranes. In the proposed partnership, Hollandia will be responsible for the steel fabrication and assembly of Kalmar STS cranes. Kalmar Industries BV, Kalmar’s Dutch subsidiary, will focus on marketing, R&D, project management and servicing of STS cranes. This arrangement will lead to approximately 100 employees of Kalmar Industries BV, who are presently engaged in steel construction and assembly work, being transferred to Hollandia Cranes BV. Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded a major port equipment order from long-standing customer Sociedad Portuaria Regional de Buenaventura S.A. (SPRBun) as they gear up for growth at their operations in Terminal Especializado de Contenedores de Buenaventura S.A. (TECSA) in Buenaventura, Colombia. The order was booked into Cargotec's 2015 second quarter order intake, with delivery of all units scheduled to be completed by April 2016. The value of the order is more than EUR 25 million. The delivery includes 14 Kalmar E-One2 rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) and six Kalmar forklift trucks.

Cargotec Wins Equipment Contract in Venezuela

Cargotec has won an order to supply 54 Kalmar port equipment to Venezuelan customer Bolivariana de Puertos, S.A. The order includes 24 Kalmar DRF 450-65 reachstackers, 4 Kalmar DRF100-54 reachstackers for empty container handling, 19 Kalmar Ottawa 4x2 terminal tractors, 3 Kalmar DCF80-45 masted empty container handlers and 4 Kalmar DCE160-12 lift trucks. All equipment will be delivered during year 2011. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order that has been booked in the third quarter of 2011.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is to continue its cooperation with Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) with a new order for container-handling equipment. The order, comprising five Kalmar reachstackers and two empty container handlers, was booked in Cargotec's 2017 third quarter intake. Delivery will commence in Q4 2017 and continue into Q2 2018. MSC, a world leader in global container shipping, has a network of over 480 offices in 155 countries and a fleet of 490 container vessels. As well as sea freight, the company offers integrated warehousing and haulage services.

Kalmar's AutoStrad delivered to Patrick's Port Botany

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, played a successful role in delivering an automated straddle carrier solution to Patrick Stevedores' during their recent automation of Port Botany container terminal in Sydney, Australia. The conversion from manual operations at Port Botany was made in only four days, setting a benchmark for the whole container terminal industry. Patrick's Port Botany is now the world's second fully-automated AutoStrad(TM) terminal, operating with 45 Kalmar AutoStrads and real time control systems.

Saigon Newport Orders 10 Kalmar E-One RTGs

Saigon Newport Company (SNP) in Vietnam has awarded Kalmar Industries a landmark contract for ten E-One rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, destined for its Tan Cang-Cat Lai container terminal near Ho Chi Minh City. The agreement is the latest in a succession of orders from environmentally conscious terminal operators across Asia for Kalmar’s revolutionary all-electric RTG, introduced to the market just over two years ago. SNP’s 6+1 wide and 1-over-5 high units will come equipped with Kalmar’s container position verification system, Smartpath, and will be delivered by May 2008.

Port of Portland Expands its Kalmar Reachstacker Fleet

The Port of Portland has awarded Kalmar an order for three DRF450-65S5 reachstackers with an option for eight additional units, further strengthening its position as one of the largest fleet owners of Kalmar reachstackers in North America. The units are scheduled for delivery in October 2007. After switching its operation from masted container handlers to reachstackers in 1999, the Port of Portland currently employs 16 Kalmar DRS4531-S5 reachstackers handling loaded containers.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded a contract to provide an integrated automation system to handle operations at Victoria International Container Terminal Ltd's (VICT) new terminal in Melbourne, Australia. According to the contract, Kalmar will be responsible for the delivery of the control systems of automatic stacking cranes (ASCs) and AutoShuttles, and terminal logistic system (TLS) as well as for the integration of the system components and terminal operating system (TOS).

Allcargo switches to RTG operation with four Kalmar cranes in India. Cargotec has received an order for four all-electric, Kalmar E-One2 rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes from Allcargo Logistics in India. The RTGs are scheduled to start operations in April next year. The order has been booked in the second quarter of 2011. Rapid growth in container traffic moving through the Indian ports has prompted Allcargo Logistics to convert container handling at its container freight station in Chennai and plan new facility near Mumbai using rubber-tyred gantry crane, each with two RTGs.
