Cargotec, JCE Invest AB Form Joint Bulk Business
Cargotec has signed an agreement with JCE Invest AB to establish a joint venture, Bruks Siwertell Group, specialised in dry bulk handling. The new joint venture will own Siwertell AB (previously part of Kalmar Business Area within Cargotec) and BRUKS Holding AB (previously part of JCE Group). Both companies are world-leading suppliers of bulk materials handling solutions. Cargotec will own 48% of the shares in Bruks Siwertell Group, and JCE Invest AB will own the rest, 52%. The ownerships are included to venturers' consolidated financial statements in accordance with the applicable regulation.
Kalmar FastCharge Shuttle Carrier at DP World London Gateway
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, and DP World London Gateway are celebrating the successful introduction into service of an electrically powered Kalmar FastCharge(TM) shuttle carrier, as part of a joint pilot project that will run for approximately six to 12 months. Kalmar has enjoyed a long and successful relationship with DP World, a leading global operator of marine and inland terminals. A semi-automated facility, DP World London Gateway is one of the most advanced deep-sea terminals in the world and is strategically located close to the United Kingdom's biggest consumption centre.
Kalmar to Supply SmartPower RTGs to Port of Buatan
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has concluded a deal with Riau Andalan Pulp & Paper (RAPP) to supply three Kalmar SmartPower rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) for its container yard at the Port of Buatan in Indonesia. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 first quarter order intake and delivery is scheduled to take place towards the end of Q4 2018. RAPP, a subsidiary of APRIL Group - one of the world's leading producers of pulp and fine papers - operates a pulp and paper mill in Riau Province on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.
Kalmar Sells Rough Terrain Handling Business
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed an agreement to sell its rough terrain handling business, Kalmar Rough Terrain Center (KRTC), to the management and a Texas-based investment group, led by Independent Bankers Capital Funds (IBCF) and Congruent Investment Partners, LLC (Congruent). The contract was signed and is effective as of 29 June 2018. Kalmar Rough Terrain Center is a specialised manufacturer of rough terrain material handling equipment for both the defense and commercial markets. It is also a manufacturer and distributor of parts and a service provider to existing equipment.

Kalmar RMGs to Support Rotterdam Short Sea Terminals
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a contract with Rotterdam Short Sea Terminals (RST) to supply two Kalmar rail-mounted gantry (RMG) cranes with remote control and extensive customisation. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 second quarter order intake. The first crane will be delivered in Q4 of 2019 and the second during Q1 of 2020. Rotterdam Short Sea Terminals, located in the Port of Rotterdam, is the largest short sea shipping hub in Europe, with over 320 employees working around the clock to process over 800,000 containers each year.
Kalmar-Navis Intermodal Automation Solution for Moorebank Logistics Park
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, and Navis, part of Kalmar Business Area within Cargotec, have been awarded the contract to supply a state-of-the-art, fully automated intermodal terminal solution for Qube's Moorebank Logistics Park (MLP) in south-western Sydney. The order, valued at approximately EUR 80 million, includes the supply of the OneTerminal solution comprising Kalmar's automated train handling, automated yard crane and automated horizontal transportation equipment and the Navis N4 terminal operating system (TOS). It was booked into Cargotec's 2018 second quarter order intake.
Gloria reachstackers for Messina Group
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has delivered nine Kalmar Gloria reachstackers to the Italian ro-ro and container shipping line Messina Group. The order includes a Kalmar Complete Care maintenance contract, which brings several advantages, such as financial predictability, operational excellence and the option to upgrade equipment after a fixed period. It was booked in Cargotec's 2016 third-quarter order intake, with delivery taking place in January 2017. Messina Group operates a fleet of eight specialised ro-ro container vessels with a total capacity of over 65,000 TEU.

Kalmar Delivers RTGs to Evergreen
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has successfully delivered five rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes to Evergreen International Storage & Transport Corporation in Taiwan. The cranes will be used in Taoyuan Inland Container Terminal and Hsichih Inland Container Terminal. Evergreen International Storage & Transport Corporation offers inland container terminal services to customers all over Taiwan, including lifting operations and control of inbound and outbound containers; container repairing and cleaning service; and warehousing in the distribution center.
Cargotec Sales Figures Plummet
Cargotec Corporation said that the orders received for H1 for the period of January-June 2017 decreased 4 percent and totalled EUR 1.7bln (USD 1.9bln). The total sales declined 5 percent and totalled EUR 1,638 for the period. However, Cargotec reiterates its outlook published on 8 February 2017 and expects its operating profit excluding restructuring costs for 2017 to improve from 2016 (EUR 250.2 million). Kalmar Signs Deal with DP World Australia
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, continues its long-term cooperation with DP World Australia, the country's largest stevedore, with orders of 38 new machines for its new logistics arm, DP World Logistics Australia. The orders include 7 Kalmar reachstackers, 11 loaded and 20 empty container handlers. 22 units have successfully been delivered to DP World Logistics Australia's Botany Intermodal terminal with the remaining equipment to be delivered by September 2017. Kalmar, MSC Pact for Container-Handling Equipment
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is to continue its cooperation with Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) with a new order for container-handling equipment. The order, comprising five Kalmar reachstackers and two empty container handlers, was booked in Cargotec's 2017 third quarter intake. Delivery will commence in Q4 2017 and continue into Q2 2018. MSC, a world leader in global container shipping, has a network of over 480 offices in 155 countries and a fleet of 490 container vessels. As well as sea freight, the company offers integrated warehousing and haulage services.
MacGregor Sets up Head Office in Singapore
MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has established a head office in Singapore, bringing to an end a period of more than three years where the company operated with a virtual head office. MacGregor president Michel van Roozendaal and vice president of finance Jani Oksanen will relocate to Singapore as of October 1, 2017. With a global customer base and large geographic span of operations, MacGregor said it will maintain its strong presence in Europe, where a majority of the company's competence centers are located.
Kalmar Key's Open Interfaces for Terminal Automation
Kalmar has announced Kalmar Key, the terminal industry's first automation platform with open interfaces. Kalmar Key provides a common system architecture for building an end-to-end, customised automation platform using Kalmar Terminal Logistics System (TLS) as a basis. The product opens the application-independent core software components of the Kalmar terminal automation system for use by developers, enabling terminal operators to extend their automation systems with any brand of equipment.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a contract with Malaysia-based supply and installation company Trac-Wheels (M) Sdn Bhd, for an order of ten units of Kalmar TL2 terminal tractor. The order was booked into Cargotec's 2017 fourth quarter order intake and it is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2018. Kalmar Backs Suomen Satamatekniikka Oy
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a Kalmar Care service agreement with Suomen Satamatekniikka, a subsidiary of Steveco, covering the maintenance and service of 16 Kalmar straddle carriers at the Port of Helsinki, Finland. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2017 fourth quarter order intake and the agreement comes into effect from the beginning of February 2018. Steveco, a leading port operator in Finland, employs approximately 850 people and has annual revenues of close to EUR 160 million.
Kalmar to Send Five RTG Cranes to DCT Gdansk Terminal
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a deal with Deepwater Container Terminal (DCT) Gdansk to supply a total of five electrically powered rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) with extensive customisation. The order, which also includes the supply of a spare parts package for the machines, was booked in Cargotec's 2018 first quarter order intake and delivery is scheduled to take place in early 2019. DCT Gdansk is Poland's largest and fastest growing container facility, and the only deep-water terminal in the Baltic Sea region with direct ocean vessel calls from the Far East.
