Kalmar's First Order for Empty Container Handlers

Kalmar received an order from the Port of Vienna's WienCont Container Terminal for three new twin lift capability empty container handlers. Delivery and start-up is set for April 2017. The contract marks the first order of equipment from Kalmar's DCG80-100 empty container handler range, which was launched in Munich on 9 November. The new range offers customers the best lifetime value currently available on the market with better performance, greater reliability, less downtime and lower running costs for the machine.

Kalmar to Send Five RTG Cranes to DCT Gdansk Terminal

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a deal with Deepwater Container Terminal (DCT) Gdansk to supply a total of five electrically powered rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) with extensive customisation. The order, which also includes the supply of a spare parts package for the machines, was booked in Cargotec's 2018 first quarter order intake and delivery is scheduled to take place in early 2019. DCT Gdansk is Poland's largest and fastest growing container facility, and the only deep-water terminal in the Baltic Sea region with direct ocean vessel calls from the Far East.

Kalmar has won an order for seven rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes following a call for tender launched by the Algerian port procurement company Groupement D'Interêt Commun Des Entreprises Portuaires (GICEP). The value of the order is approximately EUR 10 million. Kalmar Bags order from ÖBB-Infrastruktur

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded a valuable order from long-standing partner Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB) to supply cargo handling equipment for general cargo and intermodal operation at the ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG terminals at Wolfurt, Wels and Wien Süd in Austria. The order was booked into Cargotec's 2015 second quarter order intake, with delivery scheduled to be completed by the fourth quarter. The range of equipment includes seven Kalmar Gloria reachstackers for intermodal handling, three Kalmar TT 618i terminal tractors and one Kalmar DCG 160-12 forklift.

Kalmar, Yilport Oslo Terminal Ink Service Deal

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, and the Yilport Oslo Terminal Investments AS in Norway, have signed a long term service agreement for Kalmar Optimal Care. The order was signed on 1 February 2016 and the Kalmar services team has already started working at the terminal. Based on the agreement, Kalmar has full responsibility for all maintenance activities at the terminal including maintenance management, service execution, logistics, spare part warehousing and 24/7 support. Port of LA's TracPac RMG Cranes to be Integrated by Kalmar

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded a contract for the integration of the controls for the new rail mounted gantry (RMG) cranes at the intermodal yard of TraPac Inc's terminal at the Port of Los Angeles. Kalmar explain that the RMGs will be supplied to TraPac by PACECO with the Kalmar Terminal Logistic System (TLS) ensuring they are integrated in the automated operations. TLS is part of the Kalmar SmartPort equipment automation portfolio. The intermodal yard is a substantial part of the terminal, with 30 percent of the TEUs shipped inland by rail.

Kalmar Delivers RTGs to Evergreen

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has successfully delivered five rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes to Evergreen International Storage & Transport Corporation in Taiwan. The cranes will be used in Taoyuan Inland Container Terminal and Hsichih Inland Container Terminal. Evergreen International Storage & Transport Corporation offers inland container terminal services to customers all over Taiwan, including lifting operations and control of inbound and outbound containers; container repairing and cleaning service; and warehousing in the distribution center.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has delivered nine Kalmar Gloria reachstackers to the Italian ro-ro and container shipping line Messina Group. The order includes a Kalmar Complete Care maintenance contract, which brings several advantages, such as financial predictability, operational excellence and the option to upgrade equipment after a fixed period. It was booked in Cargotec's 2016 third-quarter order intake, with delivery taking place in January 2017. Messina Group operates a fleet of eight specialised ro-ro container vessels with a total capacity of over 65,000 TEU.

Kalmar Rolls Out New Range of Equipments

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, launches a new range of equipment designed to offer customers in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region a value-based choice of the high quality, reliable equipment that Kalmar is known for. Based on Kalmar's proven G-generation platform, the Essential range includes reachstackers, empty container handlers and forklifts. In addition, Kalmar introduces a new TL2 terminal tractor for the APAC customers. The range will be introduced during the Kalmar Sales and Dealer Conference in Hong Kong on 28-29 November.

Kalmar's 18 Forklift Trucks for Algerian Ports

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is delivering 18 forklift trucks to four different port authorities in Algeria: Algiers, Bejaia, Djen Djen and Mostaganem. The order was awarded by the Algerian port procurement company, Groupement D'Interêt Commun Des Entreprises Portuaires (GICEP) in April 2014. The order inspection and customer training took place in October  and the deliveries to the ports have started. GICEP groups together all public ports in Algeria, handling approximately 800,000 TEU annually. Their operations also include stevedoring and general cargo handling.

Kalmar Negotiate Agreement for STS

Kalmar Industries and Lubbers’ Constructiewerkplaats en Machinefabriek Hollandia BV, are negotiating an agreement concerning the production of steel structures for ship-to-shore (STS) cranes. In the proposed partnership, Hollandia will be responsible for the steel fabrication and assembly of Kalmar STS cranes. Kalmar Industries BV, Kalmar’s Dutch subsidiary, will focus on marketing, R&D, project management and servicing of STS cranes. This arrangement will lead to approximately 100 employees of Kalmar Industries BV, who are presently engaged in steel construction and assembly work, being transferred to Hollandia Cranes BV. Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has clinched a further order to supply seven new Kalmar DCE330-RORO units to the leading Italian shipping firm Messina Line (Ignazio Messina & C S.p.a). The expansion of Messina's fleet has been made in preparation for larger vessels soon coming to their terminal in Genoa, Italy. The order has been booked into Cargotec's first quarter intake, and scheduled for delivery in the second. Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has gained an order for two Super Gloria reachstackers from Tadarsa Logistics S.L. in Aviles, Spain. The largest reachstackers ever built, the Kalmar Gloria DRG1300-92ZX will have the capability of lifting 130 tonnes and will be utilised specifically to lift heavy wind turbine sections, which can weigh up to 260 tonnes. Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded a major port equipment order from long-standing customer Sociedad Portuaria Regional de Buenaventura S.A. (SPRBun) as they gear up for growth at their operations in Terminal Especializado de Contenedores de Buenaventura S.A. (TECSA) in Buenaventura, Colombia. The order was booked into Cargotec's 2015 second quarter order intake, with delivery of all units scheduled to be completed by April 2016. The value of the order is more than EUR 25 million. The delivery includes 14 Kalmar E-One2 rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) and six Kalmar forklift trucks.

Kalmar, MSC Pact for Container-Handling Equipment

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is to continue its cooperation with Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) with a new order for container-handling equipment. The order, comprising five Kalmar reachstackers and two empty container handlers, was booked in Cargotec's 2017 third quarter intake. Delivery will commence in Q4 2017 and continue into Q2 2018. MSC, a world leader in global container shipping, has a network of over 480 offices in 155 countries and a fleet of 490 container vessels. As well as sea freight, the company offers integrated warehousing and haulage services.

Automated straddle carrier solution for Patrick Stevedores

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, played a successful role in delivering an automated straddle carrier solution to Patrick Stevedores' during their recent automation of Port Botany container terminal in Sydney, Australia. The conversion from manual operations at Port Botany was made in only four days, setting a benchmark for the whole container terminal industry. Patrick's Port Botany is now the world's second fully-automated AutoStrad(TM) terminal, operating with 45 Kalmar AutoStrads and real time control systems.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, continues its long-term cooperation with DP World Australia, the country's largest stevedore, with orders of 38 new machines for its new logistics arm, DP World Logistics Australia. The orders include 7 Kalmar reachstackers, 11 loaded and 20 empty container handlers. 22 units have successfully been delivered to DP World Logistics Australia's Botany Intermodal terminal with the remaining equipment to be delivered by September 2017. Port of Tacoma Adds Kalmar Straddle Carriers

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has gained an order to supply five Kalmar Classic straddle carriers to the Port of Tacoma, Washington, U.S. The order was signed in August 2013 and the units are scheduled for delivery in the first quarter 2014.The Port of Tacoma has become one of the largest container ports in North America, handling 1.7 million containers in 2012. The five new Kalmar machines will add to the port's current fleet of 27 straddle carriers, all of which are Kalmar Classic models, the world's most popular straddle carrier.

Kalmar Strengthens STS Offerings

Cargotec’s Kalmar business area is strengthening its global presence in the ship to shore (STS) cranes market by commencing STS production and engineering in Asia. Until now, Kalmar’s STS cranes have only been offered to the European market. Jorma Tirkkonen, President, Kalmar Container Crane System Division, Cargotec said “Our customers have asked us to consider delivering STS cranes to terminals outside Europe. We decided that now it is a good time to target increased volumes by starting to offer our STS cranes in all continents. Kalmar to Supply 4 RTGs to Super Terminais, Brazil

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, will deliver four E-One2 Zero Emission rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) to Super Terminais in Manaus, Brazil. The 8 million USD order was signed in August 2014 with a delivery and start-up date in July 2015. Kalmar's E-One2 Zero Emission RTG is the market's technological frontrunner and includes an all-electric drive mechanism that produces no emissions or engine noise and completely replaces conventional hydraulic systems. The Kalmar E-One2 RTGs for Super Terminais also include a standard diesel generator set for dual-mode operation.

Cargotec Wins Equipment Contract in Venezuela

Cargotec has won an order to supply 54 Kalmar port equipment to Venezuelan customer Bolivariana de Puertos, S.A. The order includes 24 Kalmar DRF 450-65 reachstackers, 4 Kalmar DRF100-54 reachstackers for empty container handling, 19 Kalmar Ottawa 4x2 terminal tractors, 3 Kalmar DCF80-45 masted empty container handlers and 4 Kalmar DCE160-12 lift trucks. All equipment will be delivered during year 2011. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order that has been booked in the third quarter of 2011.
