ADQ Plans to List Abu Dhabi Ports on the Stock Exchange

State-backed holding company ADQ said on Tuesday it plans to list Abu Dhabi Ports Co on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) before the end of the year.The proposed listing of a portion of existing shares is expected before the end of 2021, it said in a statement, subject to market conditions and obtaining regulatory approval.Established in 2006, Abu Dhabi Ports has 11 ports and terminals, and more than 550 square km ($334 miles) of industrial zones within Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) and Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones.For the year ended December 31, 2020, Ab

Cosco , Abu Dhabi Ports Open New Terminal at Khalifa Port

Khalifa Port Receives ARMG Cranes

Abu Dhabi Ports, EGA Open Freight Station at Khalifa Port

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside oil and gas, and Abu Dhabi Ports have opened a facility which will reduce trucking of EGA’s aluminium within Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) by over 290,000 kilometres per year, reducing costs and environmental emissions. The new container freight station will be used to load metal into containers for transfer onto ships for export. It has been purpose built by Abu Dhabi Ports close to EGA’s Al Taweelah site to reduce the trucking distance for each consignment by approximately 17 kilometres. Last year EGA shipped some 600,000 tonnes of aluminium from Khalifa Port, requiring over 17,000 truck movements from EGA’s site to the quayside.

Abu Dhabi Ports, China Trade Council Sign MoU

Abu Dhabi Ports inked a new agreement with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade to explore new commercial opportunities between Chinese companies interested in investing in Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) and Khalifa Port Free Trade Zone (KPFTZ), which is considered the largest free trade zone in the region. Khalifa Port to Handle World's Largest Ships

Emirates Global Aluminium, the largest industrial company outside oil and gas, has signed a long-term port facility agreement with Abu Dhabi Ports to use some of the world’s largest bulk cargo vessels to import raw materials through Khalifa Port. With this agreement, Abu Dhabi Ports will be able to develop the port to become the first in the Gulf capable of directly handling these massive ships. Abu Dhabi Ports will fund and complete dredging and widening works to the Khalifa Port approach channel and basin including EGA’s berth. The dredging will deepen the channel to 18.5 metres and basin to 18.0 metres basis zero tide. Fujairah Terminals Welcomes First Container Feeder Vessel

The newly established Fujairah Terminals, under the management of Abu Dhabi Ports, has welcomed its first container feeder vessel, the Dubai Alliance, reported Gulf News. This is the first ship to arrive at the terminal, which is wholly owned by Abu Dhabi Ports, the master developer, operator and manager of commercial and community ports within the emirate of Abu Dhabi, Fujairah Port and Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD), following the signing of a concession agreement with the Port of Fujairah in June this year. Under a 35-year concession, Abu Dhabi Ports has the exclusive rights to develop port infrastructure and undertake operations for containers, general cargo, roll-on roll-off and cruise ships.

COSCO Ports Arm Inks Terminal Deal in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Ports Marine Subsidiary Rebranded as SAFEEN

Abu Dhabi Ports, the master developer, operator and manager of ports and Khalifa Industrial Zone (Kizad) in the Emirate, has renamed its subsidiary, Abu Dhabi Marine Services, as ‘SAFEEN’ –meaning ships in Arabic- in a bid to rebrand itself. The announcement was followed closely by the brand winning the prestigious International Safety Management (ISM) certification from the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Further, as part of expanding its fleet and improving services, SAFEEN  has added a new tug boat named ‘MAQTAA’ to its existing fleet of five tugs, five pilot boats, six  speed boats, one buoy maintenance boat and two oil spill response boats. The company plans to acquire three more tug boats by the end of 2016.

Abu Dhabi Ports Reports Q1 Volume Surge

Abu Dhabi Ports, the master developer, operator and manager of ports and Khalifa Industrial Zone (Kizad) in the Emirate, has attained double-digit growth in two major cargo sectors during the first quarter of 2016. Roll-on-roll-off (RoRo) traffic at Khalifa Port witnessed a 31 percent increase with 33,687 vehicles, up from 25,709 vehicles in the same period in 2015. The trend highlights Khalifa Port’s growing status as a premier RoRo hub in the region with its yard and facilities that could cater to the growing demand.

Khalifa Port Container Volume Up 41pct

At the Khalifa Port Container Terminal, which is operated by Abu Dhabi Terminals, container volumes increased by 41 per cent in the first seven months in 2015 over the same period in 2014. HLG Bags Abu Dhabi Port's KIZAD Contract

The Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG) has been awarded a contract with revenue of AED263 million (AUD96 million) for the construction in Abu Dhabi of Khalifa Industrial Zone (Kizad) Area A Secondary Infrastructure (Phase 1B) for Abu Dhabi Ports. The methodology will include extensive dewatering, excavation, pipe-laying and road construction works. Khalifa Port Ready for Growing RoRo Volumes

Abu Dhabi Ports informs it has enhanced moved all of Abu Dhabi’s roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) cargo to the new Khalifa Port RORO hub. In 2014, for the first time ever, Abu Dhabi handled more than 100,000 units in a single year, recording an all-time high of 106,071 units. The RoRo volumes grew by 18.8% compared to 2013. “Over recent years, Abu Dhabi’s RoRo business has increased significantly; today it forms an important element of the Emirate’s strategic vision to diversify the economy,” said Capt. Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports.

Abu Dhabi Ports Shift Far More Breakbulk Cargo

Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ABPC) says that general cargo moving through Abu Dhabi’s commercial Ports has increased by 37% this year. ADPC’s commercial ports (Musaffah, Khalifa and Zayed Ports) have handled 6.4 million FT (freight tonnes) of general cargo, compared to 4.7 million FT in the first half of 2014, which is an increase of 1.74 million FT (freight tonnes) compared with the same period in 2013. “These figures show a strong first half of 2014 and indicate a promising six months ahead”, said Capt. The Industrial Development Bureau of the Department of Economic Development (IDB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi Ports to establish a joint-program that will help attract investment and further develop and enhance the fast-evolving industrial sector of Abu Dhabi. The MoU, signed at the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development by Eng. Ayman Al-Makkawy, Director General of the Industrial Development Bureau, and Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO Abu Dhabi Ports, is built on the foundation of knowledge-exchange.

New OPS Plant to Start Production in Abu Dhabi

Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC), and Polysys Additive Technologies Middle East (PAT ME) held a groundbreaking ceremony, laying the foundation for its One Pack Systems (OPS) manufacturing plant which will be located in the industrial zone within the dedicated mixed use cluster covering an area of 197,424 square feet. PAT ME signed a 30-year Musataha agreement with Kizad. The plant, which is expected to be finalized by 2014, will focus on the production of polymer stabilizers called Songnox One Pack Systems.

Khalifa Port Handles a Million TEU’s in First Year

Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) and Abu Dhabi Terminals (ADT) say that a million TEU containers have been handled at Khalifa Port since its commercial opening. Khalifa Port began commercial operations at the end of last year when all container traffic was transferred from the city centre port Zayed Port, to the country’s new  flagship Khalifa Port. In October 2013, more than 100,000 TEUs passed through the port in just one month, and according to the operators these are very significant figures for Khalifa Port and the highest number of containers ever handled in a single month in the Emirate.

Khalifa Port Receives New STS Cranes

Abu Dhabi Terminals (ADT), the manager and operator of Khalifa port container terminal informs that the terminal has received a new batch of 3 of the world’s largest and most modern ship-to-shore (STS) quay cranes. The Super Post Panamax quay cranes were produced by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. in China at a cost of US$28-million, and were transported by ship to Khalifa Port’s container terminal (claimed to be the first semi-automated container terminal in the region). Just one of these STS cranes is 126.5 meters high and weighs 1,932 tons.
