Gondan Shipyard Delivers Edda Boreas CSOV to Edda Wind

Norway-based offshore wind service vessel firm Edda Wind on Thursday took delivery of Edda Boreas CSOV from Gondan Shipyard. Edda Wind Orders Another CSOV from Gondan

Norwegian offshore wind service vessel firm Edda Wind has ordered another commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) from Gondan Shipbuilders, in Spain.The newbuild will be of Salt 0474 design, which is a further development of the Salt 0217 design and will be delivered in April 2025. In addition, the company has an option with the yard for one more vessel.Including the latest newbuild, Edda Wind will have a fleet of 10 purpose-built vessels, of which six are currently under contract.

First of Nine: Edda Wind Takes Delivery of Edda Breeze Vessel

Norwegian offshore wind services firm Edda Wind has taken delivery of its first CSOV, the Edda Breeze. The vessel was built by Astilleros Gondán shipyard in Spain.The hydrogen-ready vessel is the first to be delivered as part of a nine-vessel newbuilding program. NAT Tankship Rescues 150 in Mediterranean

Nordic American Tankers Limited ("NAT") says the one of its vessels, the 'Nordic Passat' performed a rescue operation, involving 150 people in the Mediterranean last Saturday afternoon, September 27, 2014. The refugees were in a wooden boat with engine trouble. Nordic Passat was in an area South East of Sicily when it got involved in the rescuing of the refugees and brought them to Augusta in Italy this Monday morning. The refugees come from Somalia, Eritrea, Bangladesh, Sudan and Palestinians from Syria and Palestinians from Lebanon. There were 14 children, 19 women and 117 men among the refugees who were in relatively good condition and were given food and shelter onboard the ship. The rescue operation was completed early this morning Monday September 29, 2014 in Italy.

Is NAT Approaching Recovery?

Nordic American Tankers (NAT) published its financial results from 4Q 2013, noting an expected increase in tanker rates that the company expects to play a role in its recovery. In early December 2013 the Suezmax tanker rates increased significantly compared with the average for 2013. A few weeks into 2014 the rates have weakened again. We expect improved results in 1Q 2014. The timecharter results of NAT were slightly lower in 4Q 2013 than in 3Q 2013. Short term rates in the tanker market are very volatile.

Shipping Firms to Pay $10.4 Million in Pollution Penalties

Two shipping firms based in Germany and Cyprus were sentenced today in federal court in Newark, N.J., to pay a $10.4 million penalty for felony obstruction of justice charges and violating the Act to Prevent Pollution from Ships related to the deliberate concealment of vessel pollution from four ships that visited ports in New Jersey, Delaware and Northern California, the U.S. Attorney’s Offices in New Jersey and Delaware, the U.S. Department of Justice Environment and Natural Resources Division and the U.S. Coast Guard announced. Volkswagen Chattanooga Selects Port of Savannah

Volkswagen Group of America, Chattanooga Operations has selected the Port of Savannah’s Garden City Terminal to handle auto parts in containers for its new plant in Tennessee. “We look forward to this new partnership with the Port of Savannah and appreciate the commitment the Georgia Ports Authority has made to work closely with our team,” said Laszlo Juhasz, General Manager Logistics of Volkswagen Group of America, Chattanooga Operations LLC. Nordic American Tanker Shipping Q4 Report

Nordic American Tanker Shipping Ltd. ("NAT" or "the Company") announced today that the Company has declared a dividend of $0.25 per share for 4Q10, the same dividend as for 4Q09. The dividend policy will continue. The Company has a very strong balance sheet and we shall protect this position. The Company will pay the dividend of $0.25 per share on or about March 4, 2011 to shareholders of record as of February 24, 2011. After the first three vessels were delivered in the autumn 1997, NAT has always paid a quarterly dividend; including the dividend for 4Q10 the total dividend payment amounts to $41.84 per share. Including two newbuildings there are now 19 vessels in our fleet of which 15 vessels were trading during 4Q10.

Nordic American Receives Vessel No. 18

Nordic American Tanker Shipping Ltd. (NYSE: NAT) took delivery on March 2 of the suezmax vessel that the company agreed to acquire in November 2009. The double hull suezmax vessel has been named Nordic Passat. Including the Nordic Passat, the company's fleet consists of 18 suezmax vessels of which two are newbuildings to be delivered later this year. The Nordic Passat will be employed in the spot market after an approximate two months period on a contract. The company noted that this addition to the fleet represents an important step in expansion of the company. The transaction is in line with the company's strategy with focus on accretive growth together with increased dividend and earnings capacity of the Company. (www.nat.bm)
