Monjasa DMCC, a bunkering specialist, has chosen to implement the GL ShipManager system to optimize and streamline its ship management practices. Monjasa operates a fleet of 18 vessels, delivering fuels and lubricants to their customers around the globe and will implement the system onboard and onshore. Monjasa will implement the software to maximize the efficiency of its technical, quality and safety management processes as well as its crewing and procurement administration.

Rolfs Returns As New IT Provider

John Rolfs, a founding director of shipping IT provider Dataworks, has returned to the maritime communications and technology sector after a two-year absence with his new company, Chipcraft. Rolfs left Dataworks in 2001 when it was acquired by Strategic Software. Chipcraft, his first venture back into the maritime sector, is a specialized software provider to the shipping world. Chipcraft is the official U.K. and Northern Europe representative for Danaos Shipping Software of Greece. As well as bringing communications and ship management software to match client needs, the company provides installation and support for its customers through U.K. partner and network specialists, Blue Diamond IT.

ShipDecision New Module for Vessel Position

Responding to Ship Brokers’ need for faster access to accurate information on vessel positions, ShipDecision has released a Broker Module of its ship management software that automates the collection of vessel position data and cargo order information. ShipDecision software eliminates the need for Brokers to search manually through the thousands of incoming daily emails. The Vessel Position feature of the system examines each incoming message and automatically extracts the critical vessel information such as the name, ownership and tonnage of the vessel; its region and position; and its open date range. Through a unique algorithm, the system also learns’ to adapt to various formats of information, so that it can extract the relevant data regardless of the format in which it is written.

Wah Kwong Ship Management (HK) Limited will adopt DNV GL's ShipManager integrated fleet management software suite to further improve operational efficiency, data transparency and safety reporting. Wah Kwong is a provider of maritime transport in the bulk carrier, tanker and LPG segments, operating a current fleet of 26 vessels, with nine more newbuilds on the way. It recently decided to implement ShipManager softward from DNV GL, with the aim to simplify and optimize ship management by allowing extensive fleet-wide data collection and analysis.

Lloyd’s Register Launches Marine Analytics Service

Lloyd’s Register (LR) has launched its Marine Analytics service with a methodology that will enable companies to obtain value from operational data and connected assets. According to LR, the biggest challenge associated with data from multiple systems and connected assets, once security has been assured, is knowing how to turn the possibilities into actual commercial and operational value. ABS announced the release of its Nautical Systems (NS) Enterprise fleet management software, including NS Insight, a new business intelligence module. The NS solution provides complete capabilities to plan, execute and document all compliance work processes. Kongsberg Upgrades Software for Norden

Kongsberg Maritime has delivered new fleet and vessel management functionality through a recent customized software update across Dampskibsselskabet NORDEN A/S’ fleet and shore offices. The software roll-out took place during January 2016 and included updates to vessel and shore based modules covering maintenance, spare parts, information sharing, procurement and budgeting. The updated software was developed in close co-operation with NORDEN, an independent Danish shipping company operating a large global fleet of dry cargo vessels and product tankers.

Kongsberg Maritime, a leading marine technology developer has today (29th March 2012) acquired 100% of the shares in fleet management software specialist Jotron Consultas. A new product group consisting of all previous Jotron Consultas employees and based at Kongsberg Maritime’s premises in Horten, Norway, will be formed as a result of the acquisition. Jotron Consultas has developed a reputation as one of the leading specialist software providers for the sector.

New Crewing Software for HAV Ship Management

CrewInspector.com an online crew management software provider wins the contract to provide HAV Ship Management Kaliningrad with full crew management solution. CrewInspector will provide online crew management database, integrated online application for seafarers and crew payroll software. Crew management system enables crew managers to create seafarer employment contracts, monitor certificate expiry and organize crew planning across the whole fleet thus reducing manual work. Based on crew employment contracts, payrolling module helps calculating crew wages and respective deductions. HAV Ship Management Kaliningrad will use CrewInspector to manage crew for 26 dry-cargo ships classified by Germanischer Lloyd which under management of the company.
