Bahri Chooses Digital Strategic Partner

Wah Kwong Ship Management (HK) Limited will adopt DNV GL's ShipManager integrated fleet management software suite to further improve operational efficiency, data transparency and safety reporting. Wah Kwong is a provider of maritime transport in the bulk carrier, tanker and LPG segments, operating a current fleet of 26 vessels, with nine more newbuilds on the way. Rolfs Returns As New IT Provider

John Rolfs, a founding director of shipping IT provider Dataworks, has returned to the maritime communications and technology sector after a two-year absence with his new company, Chipcraft. Rolfs left Dataworks in 2001 when it was acquired by Strategic Software. Chipcraft, his first venture back into the maritime sector, is a specialized software provider to the shipping world. ShipDecision New Module for Vessel Position

Responding to Ship Brokers’ need for faster access to accurate information on vessel positions, ShipDecision has released a Broker Module of its ship management software that automates the collection of vessel position data and cargo order information. ShipDecision software eliminates the need for Brokers to search manually through the thousands of incoming daily emails. The Vessel Position feature of the system examines each incoming message and automatically extracts the critical vessel information such as the name, ownership and tonnage of the vessel; its region and position; and its open date range. Through a unique algorithm, the system also learns’ to adapt to various formats of information, so that it can extract the relevant data regardless of the format in which it is written.

German shipping company Held chooses GL Shipmanager System for its technical ship services division.
