Clipper Fleet, Dania Ship Announce Partnership

Dania Ship Management has announced plans to extend ship management capabilities to include dry cargo in a partnership agreement with Clipper Fleet Management, part of the Clipper Group. The partnership, which strengthens the commitment by V.Group, Nordic Tankers and Clipper Group to create a compelling platform for Copenhagen based ship management solutions, will see the transfer of 28 shore-based employees and around 1,000 seafarers to Dania Ship Management. With access to V.Group’s global marine services offering and Dania’s ship management platform, the partnership will support Clipper Group to deliver high quality and efficient management of their fleet.

ClassNK Releases Mobile App for PSC Inspection

Classification society ClassNK has released the Arrival Checklist  for PSC, the preparatory checklist mobile app for PSC inspections. Arrival Checklist  for PSC digitalizes the updated contents of ClassNK’s Port State Inspections Pocket Checklist and is now available for smartphones and tablets. Arrival Checklist  for PSC allows users to access the checklist with greater ease and efficiency during preparatory checks of onboard equipment and others prior to arrival into port. The app was developed as a ship management solution to help minimize the risk of PSC detentions and deficiencies. The app categorizes items that are frequently pointed out as deficiencies at PSC inspections by location.

V.Ships Wins easyCruise Contract

V.Ships Leisure, the passenger ship arm of V.Ships, the world’s leading ship manager and marine services group, has been nominated by easyGroup as the manager for it’s new easyCruise venture. easyCruise will commence operations in the West Mediterranean in Spring 2005. V.Ships Leisure will include marine planning, technical management and provision of deck and engine crew in its package of services. The 1990-built Neptune 2 (ex-Renaissance 2), recently acquired by easyGroup, will be delivered on April 15 and immediately taken to Singapore where she will be refurbished and converted into a quality 180-passenger capacity easyCruise vessel.
