ABB Launches Emissions Monitoring Module

A new development from ABB will enable customers to monitor emissions according to the EU’s Monitoring Reporting and Verification (MRV) regulation requirements, which come into effect January 1, 2018. ABB’s MRV module has been certified by the independent certifier Verifavia, as a tool to monitor all parameters to comply with the EU’s MRV regulation requirements. The system follows requirements set out in Regulation (EU) N° 2015/757, the associated Delegated and Implementing Acts and the ISO IEC 25051 standard on software.

Kongsberg Upgrades Software for Norden

Kongsberg Maritime has delivered new fleet and vessel management functionality through a recent customized software update across Dampskibsselskabet NORDEN A/S’ fleet and shore offices. The software roll-out took place during January 2016 and included updates to vessel and shore based modules covering maintenance, spare parts, information sharing, procurement and budgeting. The updated software was developed in close co-operation with NORDEN, an independent Danish shipping company operating a large global fleet of dry cargo vessels and product tankers.

Wah Kwong Adopts ShipManager

Wah Kwong Ship Management (HK) Limited will adopt DNV GL's ShipManager integrated fleet management software suite to further improve operational efficiency, data transparency and safety reporting. Wah Kwong is a provider of maritime transport in the bulk carrier, tanker and LPG segments, operating a current fleet of 26 vessels, with nine more newbuilds on the way. New Simulation Complex for Dunkirk Pilot Station

Transas informs it has installed the fifth simulator for high-level training for pilots who operate in the port of Dunkirk in France. The pilot station is now equipped with the latest generation of the Transas navigational simulator Navi-Trainer Professional 5000, which capabilities allow to steer any kind of ship in combination with any propulsion and steering system available on the market, Transas said. Navigator Gas Signs up for ShipServ

Navigator Gas, one of the world’s largest LPG vessel operators, has recently signed up to use ShipServ for all its procurement activities. The London-headquartered company recently took its ship management activities in-house based out of its Polish office in Gdynia and is now managing three vessels from Poland. The procurement tools and services available to Navigator Gas include ShipServ’s SpotSource and Supplier Recommendations service. The LPG operator will also use ShipServ’s range of purchasing KPIs based on the trading activities of more than 9,000 vessels.
