Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) membrane containment systems designer GTT has received an order for three large Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers (LNGCs), the company reported.
The three ships, to be built by the Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), will be built with the innovative NO 96 GW technology, which allows an optimized boil-off rate of cargo LNG. All three ships are due for delivery throughout 2018.
Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT, said, “DSME and Teekay are two long-term partners. We are delighted to see that these companies have chosen, once again, membrane containment solutions for new buildings."
