B&G announced that its new multifunction navigation display, Zeus, received the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Innovation Award at the 70th Annual Miami International Boat Show. Judged by Boating Writers International (BWI), the innovation awards honor products that best meet the criteria of “innovative distinction from other products currently being manufactured; benefit to the marine industry and/or consumer; practicality; and cost-effectiveness.”

Awarded in the consumer electronics category, the feature-packed Zeus multifunction display with dedicated functions designed specifically for sailors, offers full integration with GPS, Broadband Radar, Automatic Identification System (AIS), weather, entertainment and digital switching.

“B&G Zeus is a true revolution for sailors,” said Louis Chemi, chief operating officer, Navico Americas. “We developed a complete navigation system designed to give sailors unique benefits -- like visual indicators of where to tack/jibe to make the maximum progress along their intended course, direct overlay of GRIB weather data, WindPlot and TimePlot histograms, and more – all of which cannot be accessed with any other multifunction display on the market. By featuring these sailing-specific benefits within an easy-to-use display, B&G has taken a clear leadership position in delivering unparalleled functionality, flexibility and efficiency to both recreational and professional sailors.”

Featuring seamless compatibility with B&G’s renowned H3000 instruments, the B&G Zeus system provides GRIB weather-file display and animation, along with true wind speed and direction, and barometric pressure. Users can scroll through forecasts to plan navigation consistent with conditions.

Zeus’ tactical chart overlay depicts sailing laylines and indicates best and worst layline positions, allowing sailors to make better-informed navigation decisions. The system also displays a powerful WindPlot histogram, ideal for analyzing breezes, and a TimePlot histogram that provides a time-based log display including depth, barometric pressure and boat speed for trend tracking.
