Bergen Group Dreggen has signed an agreement with the Brazilian industrial player Koch Metalúrgica with regard to strategic cooperation involving development and production of offshore cranes to the growing Brazilian oil and gas industry.

The cooperation opens up great opportunities in one of the world’s most vibrant and demanding oil and gas markets.

“The agreement with Koch Metalúrgica is strengthening our position in this market without being dependent on investments or a demanding establishing period. The goal is that we together can position ourselves as a major supplier of offshore cranes in Brazil,” said Halldor Rongve, Managing Director of Bergen Group Dreggen.

Koch Metalúrgica is situated in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and has become a considerable supplier of cranes and lifting equipment, not only in Brazil, but in Latin America altogether. Bergen Group Dreggen is situated in Norway and has supplied marine cranes to the international shipbuilding and oil and gas industries for more than 25 years. The company has been present in Brazil, represented by the subsidiary Bergen Group Dreggen do Brazil, for one year. Both companies have experienced a considerable growth.

Any products to be launched as a result of the joint forces will be known as DREGGEN-KOCH. Bergen Group Dreggen has recently focused efforts in strengthening its international presence by establishing its own sales and service offices in Brazil and Singapore. Both of these establishments have already yielded results in the form of contracts, including contract of 12 cranes for four Panamax tankers for Transpetro earlier this year.
