SMC³ and World Trade 100 announce “The Alliance” award for excellence in supply chain performance

“The Alliance will profile shippers and their alliance partners who have successfully and dynamically collaborated to drive supply chain excellence,” said Sarah Harding, group publisher, World Trade 100. “We encourage interested candidates to submit one or more entries in any of five categories: domestic freight single mode, domestic freight multimodal, international freight, warehousing and sustainability—areas that are increasingly important parts of a successfully integrated, visible and ultimately workable supply chain.”

To evaluate the entries, a panel of judges will examine the role of each of the partners and the contributions their individual and collective efforts have made to solving a supply chain problem or driving change and continuous improvement in a supply chain.

“Judges Perry A. Trunick, World Trade 100; John Rader, Red Rock Consulting; Mike Brown, Brainzooming; David Ross, Stifel Nicolaus; Michael Mikitka, Warehousing Education & Research Council; Kevin Huntsman, Mastio; and John Manners-Bell, Transport Intelligence will evaluate submissions in each category on metrics and results. They will also closely scrutinize the technical/operational implementation of the processes and tools used for achieving top performance in the supply chain,” explained Harding. “Each submission will also be examined for innovation and how the partnerships made best use of each alliance partner’s strengths.”

Entrants are invited to view the award criteria and submit their information using the simple wizard-like tool on the dedicated Alliance website: TheAlliance.worldtradeWT100.com. Entrants may submit their information starting Friday, June 1, 2012 through Friday, August 31, 2012 at 5 p.m. eastern time. SMC³ and World Trade 100 will formally introduce The Alliance award program at the Connections 2012 conference in Chicago, Ill. June 26-29, 2012. Final awards will be presented to winners at the SMC³ 2013 Jump Start conference on January 22, 2013 in Atlanta, Ga.
