Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

June 4, 2013

CaroTrans, a global NVOCC (non-vessel operating common carrier) and ocean freight consolidator, today announces a strategic alliance with Multifreight Consolidator System, Inc. (MFCSI), a NVOCC in the Philippines market committed to responsive, flexible transportation services.

The CaroTrans MFCSI partnership will offer fast, reliable LCL (less than container load) and FCL (full container load) import and export cargo services between North America and the Philippines, the company said. A direct, weekly service to Manila departed Long Beach on May 24, transit 22 days, and a Manila to Los Angeles service with 17 day transit has also launched. The Los Angeles service offers IPI (inland points intermodal) connections to over 75 North American market locations.

Multifreight has offices in all major ports in the Philippines including: Manila, Davao and Cebu. Pre-carriage services are provided from Davao and Cebu to Manila.

CaroTrans will connect with MFCSI via EDI to expedite the transfer of freight data for these collaborative services. Additionally, CaroTrans offers a suite of Web-based e-commerce tools including: bookings, sailing schedules, LCL/FCL rates, tracking and inland rates to streamline freight processing, boost efficiencies and deliver a greater level of shipment visibility.
