Alternative Energy Products Manufacturer Moves Own Facility to Greater Efficiency

Imtra, a  manufacturer of advanced LED Solutions, has announced  the completion of its ‘green’ initiative to reduce energy consumption at its corporate headquarters. Imtra’s energy saving efforts include the installation of high-yield solar panels on all suitable roofing surfaces resulting in the reduction of outside power consumption by 70%, as well as installing higher energy-efficient bulbs throughout the facility resulting in a lighting fixture power reduction of 9%.

Imtra Corporation has spent years developing energy saving products for its customers. Under its Imtra Marine Lighting brand, it manufactures a series of energy-efficient, low-power LED lighting products. The Company’s weather instrument division, Maximum Inc., produces wind measurement and alarm systems that are used within the wind and alternative energy industries to deliver ‘green’ power more effectively and efficiently.

“Imtra has been at the forefront of power-conscious LED lighting solutions for years and this investment in our facility epitomizes our corporate philosophy and commitment to energy efficiency,” said Nat Bishop, CEO, Imtra. “Not only is it good for our operations, it is good for the environment. I am proud to make this concept a reality. Imtra’s investment in ‘green’ energy conversion will pay for itself within four years and with a product life rating of twenty-five years, the solar panels will generate positive cash flow for an additional twenty-one years."

“A highly energy efficient building just makes sense for us,” said Ned Rogerson, CFO, Imtra. “The cost savings will be driven right back into our product development efforts, allowing us to design and manufacture more low-power, high-performance LED and wind monitoring solutions for our customers. Everyone wins!”
