The , Science and Technology (IMarEST) Marine Partners scheme is the corporate partnership program of the IMarEST – the leading professional body for the global marine community. Under the scheme customized corporate packages are created for each of the Corporate Partners and Marine Affiliates who include companies, universities, research institutes and training colleges.

One of the latest to join the IMarEST Marine Partners initiative as a Marine Affiliate is Berg Propulsion Technology AB, one of the world’s leading designers and producers of Controllable Pitch Propellers.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Berg Propulsion Technology as an IMarEST Marine Affiliate,” says IMarEST’s Chief Executive, Dr Marcus Jones. “They have a long and proud tradition, starting to build propellers in1929. Superior craftsmanship, expert knowledge of materials and engineering are deeply rooted traditions carried on by generations of skilled employees. It is those employees who will benefit from a number of Continuing Professional Development initiatives offered to Berg as a central pillar of their IMarEST Marine Partnership.”

“Hydrodynamics is our key area of expertise and we always approach our hydrodynamic dimensioning with our experience and caution, providing you with reliable products with a minimum of down-time,” explains Johan Wahlberg of Berg Propulsion Technology. “We are at the forefront of innovation in the hydrodynamics field and our engineers can be frequently found at universities and marine industry exhibitions presenting our research and development.

“Today we operate out of state of the art production facilities in Sweden and Singapore, with sales and service offices located in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Istanbul, Dubai, Singapore, Bremen, San Sebastian, Rio De Janeiro, Busan and the Swedish west coast. We want to use the IMarEST Marine Partners programme to ensure we fully support our talented team at all these facilities.

“The package of services, employee engagement, professional development opportunities – both CPD and IPD, networking, technical support and information opportunities we have negotiated with the Institute, demonstrates our commitment to developing employee skills, as well as being a method of extending our marketing reach. We are looking forward to working with the Institute to make sure we benefit to the full from this new arrangement.”
