Resolve Marine Group has opened a New Orleans base of operations at 643 Magazine Street, Suite 304.  The marine salvage, firefighting and emergency response company is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and maintains operations in Theodore, Ala., as well as London, UK and in Singapore. The New Orleans location strengthens Resolve’s commitment to the maritime industry in the Gulf states and expands the marine salvor’s reach along the Gulf Coast and into the Mississippi River corridor. Since April, Resolve has operated a fleet of more than 100  vessels out of Theodore, Ala. in support of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill skimming and related operations in four Gulf states and offshore, as a subcontractor to BP.

Heading Resolve’s  New Orleans base is former Coast Guardsmen Matthew Hahne. Hahne joins the company as Director of Regulatory Affairs and will focus on OPA-90 implementation, offshore immediate response regulations, and tank barge response, among other marine services for tanker, cargo and other large commercial vessels.

“Matt brings to Resolve more than 20 years’ experience in the commercial maritime industry. He is a veteran emergency responder in south Louisiana, where he was the Navy’s liaison to the State during Hurricanes Gustav, Ike and other storms. With four of the United States’ top fifteen ports here in the Mississippi corridor, we are well positioned to meet the emergency response needs of commercial vessels throughout the Gulf and lower Mississippi. A New Orleans presence was the logical next step in our company’s growth”, said Joe Farrell, President and Founder of Resolve.

Hahne was most recently with the U.S. Coast Guard’s (USCG) Eighth District where he was instrumental in developing commercial ship decontamination plans for the Deepwater Horizon spill response.  While with the USCG, Hahne was recalled by the Navy Reserve to be the interim Haitian Port Director for Operation Unified Response following the 2010 earthquake.  Hahne led a multi-agency, international government-commercial team in rebuilding Haitian ports.  RESOLVE Marine Group was among those commercial team members arriving with relief supplies, and later worked with Commander Hahne to clear obstructions and rebuild the ports.
