Schat-Harding Extends Service Network

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

November 21, 2006

Schat-Harding has extended its wholly-owned global service network with the purchase of Cadiz-based Equipos Aquanor. Equipos Aquanor is an established independent lifeboat servicing station covering the ports and shipyards of Spain and Portugal. Dave Bradley, group after-sales and service manager for Schat-Harding, says, “Equipos Aquanor has been our authorised agent for some time and we have great confidence in the company. Taking it into our ownership means we can invest to further improve services to our clients and to the shipping industry in general. Equipos Aquanor has built up a reputation for support and holds authorisation for a number of major manufacturers of lifeboats, and we intend that it should continue to provide those services. We believe strongly that it is in the best interests of the shipping community if the major manufacturers collaborate to maintain a strong global network of authorised service companies who can support all the brands which a ship may be fitted with.”
