Sonetics Launches Wireless Made Easy Trade-Up Program to Provide Reliable Team Communications for Users of Legacy Wired Systems. Program Offers Credits to Upgrade from Wired Headsets to Hands-Free Wireless Headsets, Improving Team Safety, Effectiveness and Productivity

Sonetics has announced the Wireless Made Easy Trade-up Program for users of legacy wired headsets. The program offers credits up to $150 per wired headset redeemed towards the purchase of completely wireless Apex and Triton headsets providing a cost-effective transition to wireless benefits while upgrading from David Clark, Peltor, Piratecom, Avcom and other legacy systems.

Millions of headset users remain tethered to intercom systems, repeatedly repairing unreliable decades-old wired equipment at substantial ongoing cost. Other users continue to use old green-style headsets with cumbersome wires that plug into belt packs to become “wireless.” All of these users are missing the benefits of next-generation Sonetics wireless systems, with rugged hands-free wireless headsets that deliver DECT-based 1600 foot range, 26dB of hearing protection, outstanding comfort, and secure full-duplex team communication with optional push-to-talk two-way radio integration.

Beyond ongoing repair costs, many current headset users are failing to meet new requirements such as OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart CC regulations on crane operations that mandate hands-free communication over dedicated channels between crane operators and co-workers. Unlike two-way radio solutions, Sonetics wireless systems directly address this requirement. The combination of the long range, hearing protection, continuous conversation and the freedom to apply both hands to work delivers improvements in safety and productivity while Wireless Made Easy assists the transition to compliance.

“We are making it very easy for users of old legacy wired headsets  to enhance their team effectiveness and individual freedom of movement by trading up to proven Sonetics wireless headsets and systems,” said Sonetics Chief Operating Officer, Reed Stager. “This trade-up program values customers’ existing investment in communication systems while helping them benefit from the latest technology. In many cases, customers will recoup a credit for more than half of what they originally paid for a wired headset – even if they purchased it a decade ago.”

With their exceptional 1600 foot line-of-sight range, DECT-based Sonetics systems deliver nearly 30 times the coverage area of conventional Bluetooth systems. Headsets are fully wireless, with no external antennas, cables, or belt packs to snag or tangle. An extended-life battery keeps each headset operating continuously for 24 hours on a two-hour charge. Sonetics headsets maintain excellent water and dust resistance and they operate under harsh worksite conditions from -40°F to 158°F. Headsets are available in a variety of colors including high-visibility safety yellow, graphite grey, black and red with over-head or hardhat-compatible headbands.

To extend team communications beyond the local work site, Sonetics can configure systems to integrate with existing radios in less than 30 minutes.  Sonetics provides interfaces to more than 400 radios from over 20 manufacturers, leveraging customers’ investments in current equipment. While standard fixed-base and portable systems will meet most needs, headsets and systems are also highly configurable and programmable to specific user requirements. Finally, for less than the cost of a single out-of-warranty repair, customers can also add Sonetics’ exclusive ComCare™ Service Program, which provides enhanced technical support and repair services and extends the standard two-year warranty for up to five years — the longest and most comprehensive protection in the industry.
