Numerex announced that i3G, a provider of bulk-liquid tank monitoring solutions, recently added "Optimizer" and "Tank Management" tools to its core "i-tank" offering. Customers deploying i3G's i-tank solution now can utilize the "Optimizer" functionality to manage their orders within the application to ensure easy and efficient grouping by product type, order number and shipment. This new feature facilitates the handoff of order details to loading and distribution operations personnel ensuring accuracy and optimizing all aspects of order fulfillment. The new "Tank Management" tool enables customers to review delivery data for a given route, to group the shipment by product type for a specified time period, and to use exception-based rules to optimize distribution planning without risking stock-outs. The i-tank solution--based on and enabled by Numerex FAST, a cloud-based, highly scalable, horizontal service delivery platform--is considered by many to be the leader in affordable and reliable tank monitoring.

Numerex and i3G worked together to co-develop a product offering that addressed a real market challenge. Bulk-liquid distributors needed to overcome the inefficiencies associated with existing manual methods to track, monitor, and manage liquid storage tanks. The industry needed a wireless, non-intrusive solution that would give customers the ability to determine when to refill the tanks. To solve that challenge, Numerex created an M2M, turnkey solution for i3G. The system remotely communicates real-time visibility of fill levels to help businesses enhance operational efficiencies, reduce costs, save time, and increase product security. The i3G solution reduces the costs of bulk delivery of liquids by eliminating unnecessary field visits, reducing the number of miles driven by the tanker fleet, eliminating emergency deliveries, and decreasing manpower hours and fuel consumption. Since its introduction, the i3G solution has been deployed to monitor thousands of tanks at delivery depots, oil change centers, manufacturing facilities, and service dealerships nationwide.

"The i3G i-tank remote tank monitoring system is the most cost effective and flexible solution offered in today's market. It is easy to install, easy to use and easy to scale. With the Numerex FAST platform, we have a unique solution that provides a sustainable competitive advantage to our customers. The new Optimizer and Tank Management tools deliver enhanced value to an industry increasingly focused on making deliveries as efficient as possible. We appreciate Numerex's strong support over the years and their role in making the i-tank solution the success that it is," said Mike Barcum, cofounder of i3G.

Scott Wiley, SVP of Marketing and Product Management for Numerex, commented, "Using i3G's unique and innovative technology solutions, Numerex was able to develop and market a specialized product that meets a critical customer need, providing a solution for a vertical market in the area of Supply Chain--an area of expertise for Numerex and a key strategic point of focus. Best of all, we were able to do it in a fraction of the time that it would normally take to develop it. We did that by leveraging FAST, our horizontal service delivery platform that is complemented by an intelligent, web-based management portal. The versatility of that platform continues to be proven out in multiple industries and applications."
