DP World's Rio de la Plata Terminal Switches to Navis N4 TOS
Cargo movement technology experts Navis inform that DP World’s Terminales Rio de la Plata (TRP), the largest container facility in Argentina, successfully went live on the Navis N4 terminal operating system (TOS).
A Navis SPARCS and Express customer since 1994, Buenos Aires-based Terminales Rio de la Plata handles containers from deep-sea vessels from Europe, Asia and North America, as well as feeders vessels to both the East and West coasts of South America and barges upriver to Rosario.
The facility made the strategic investment in N4 to modernize their systems and improve operational performance with enhanced reporting functionality and centralized yard, gate, rail and inspections events. With N4, TRP is improving the overall service that is delivered to their customers.
“TRP’s migration from SPARCS Express to N4 reinforces the importance of modernizing systems to keep up with the growing productivity pressures that terminals are currently experiencing,” said Martin Bardi, Senior Director, Americas, for Navis. “Our historic knowledge about the facility was also advantageous, as we were able to minimize disruptions during the integration and drive improvements almost immediately. We are proud to continue to serve as TRP’s TOS platform of choice, and look forward to our continued partnership for the next 20 years.”
N4 is Navis’ latest generation TOS, allowing customers the flexibility and scalability needed to run their operations - from a single terminal to multiple terminals spanning numerous geographic locations managed from one central location.
