Wireless Crane Camera System: BlokCam

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

September 18, 2015

A new wireless crane camera system called BlokCam delivers live video from the hook block to the operator in the cabin.

Manufactured by 4Site Technology exclusively for BlokCam Limited, BlokCam will be distributed by Compact Lifting Group.

The BlokCam design is based on the ProPick wireless camera system, originally launched by 4Site Technology in January 2015 and currently sold around the globe by 4Site and its distributors. Both systems are designed and manufactured by 4Site Technology, LLC of Seattle.

Compact Lifting Group CEO, Peter Hird Jr., said,  “We have learnt a tremendous amount from supplying camera systems into the market and the new distribution vehicle for 4Site Technology’s innovative product can take crane camera systems to the next level.”

“The name for our new company reflects the location of the camera system, which fits on the hook block of the crane. With the increased number of models available and the enhancements that have been made to the technology, it is important that we serve the crane camera market through a strong, exciting new distribution brand and we think we have achieved that with BlokCam,” Hird said.

Additionally, BlokCam Limited will support existing HookCam models previously distrubited by Compact Lifting, including the maintenance of installed equipment, while honoring existing warranty periods. Companies that have recently placed orders will be able to receive products from the new range.

Ben Windass, the co-owner and managing director of Compact Lifting Group, said, “Tower crane manufacturers, rental companies and contractors are increasingly embracing crane camera technology to enhance safety and efficiency on their job sites.”
