Why Seall Passage Planner Deserves Attention

While developing Seall ECDIS, we have established another business goal which is to develop a passage planning tool which can be simply integrated into the existing ECDIS to ensure the navigation tasks, accurate passage navigation and monitoring, and most importantly, safety at sea.“

Jargoon, a former founder of Voyager chart management system has launched a new voyage planning software Seall Passage Planner.

Seall Passage Planner(SPP), unveiled in July 2013, is a modern technology based application for passage planning. The passage planning tool has been elaborately designed and developed to provide utmost usability, compatibility, and effectiveness for the mariner by delivering a number of special features along with common features found in existing products.

SPP has been developed bearing the needs of the mariner in mind; it ticks all the boxes of requirements and compliance for voyager planning and complete the simple management tasks in the most effective way. Seamless chart loading and a built-in ‘Chart library’ will help manage and organize data more effectively.

Planning on up-to-date electronic charts is essential to ensure safety at sea. SPP keeps your electronic charts and the AIO (Admiralty Information Overlay) fully up to date using the advanced ‘Automatic ENC updating tool’. This feature will enhance the preparation process with its built-in ‘Checklist’ prior to setting voyage. The checklist is found on the planning & appraisal phase and is based on IMO regulations and is designed to help mariners to comply with the regulated guidelines before and during the voyage. Users can monitor the plan directly from your hardware or print it out if you prefer to a paper report.

Apart from these primary functions outlined above, Seall Passage Planner provides distinct special features which differ from other passage planning tools.

One of the most noticeable features of SPP is AIO integration. This feature allows users to display AIO layers on top of AVCS (Admiralty Vector Chart Service) which automates route validation against AIO detected intersections and AIO detecting proximity. When a notice is crossed by a route leg or a route passes within a configurable proximity limit of a notice, a danger highlight annotation and proximity warning will be presented accordingly in the plan. Users can also view or print paper base reports which list intersections and proximity alerts with the notice and affected AVCS cells. Plus, Seall Passage Planner is compatible with touch screen function which will optimize the environment and maximize the user experience. Touch screen driven feature will enable users to create routes, navigate charts, operate and manage of all your navigational tasks with a rich set of navigation tools using touch gestures.

Lastly but not least, Seall Passage Planner supports No SENC format. It means that SPP can display AVCS, PRIMAR and NOAA simultaneously without converting them from the S-57 exchange sets. With this feature, users can increase efficiency of their existing ENCs and save cost by utilizing multiple complete data sets.
