Aveva announced that CSC Jinling Shipyard in Greater China has signed a new contract for Aveva Net software, upon which an integrated design information management system will be deployed.

CSC Jinling Shipyard has grown over recent years, extending its operations across multiple sites. To optimize these distributed and complex operations, Aveva Net was selected to integrate information from engineering, design and enterprise resource management systems across all of its geographic locations. Using Aveva Net, CSC Jinling will benefit from more efficient design and construction, higher quality across the entire business process, and significantly reduced delivery times and costs.

“CSC Jinling Shipyard evaluated other information management systems and selected Aveva Net following a process that lasted over a year.” said Mr. Jiang Jiazhong, the shipyard deputy director. “CSC Jinling Shipyard has great confidence in AVEVA and we look forward to working with them.”

Aveva Net will assist CSC Jinling Shipyard to standardize and simplify its design management across multiple sites. All design, engineering, planning, materials management and production data will be handled by a centralized digital information hub. Once information is published, and validated for accuracy, users will be able to see all associated models, plans and technical datasheets, and collaborate through mark-ups and workflow approvals.

CSC Jinling Shipyard consulted with other shipyards and conducted a full evaluation of different solutions, during which the Aveva team worked with the organization to fully understand its requirements. The flexibility of Aveva Net provided the capability to create an integrated information management system that meets CSC Jinling Shipyard’s long-term business objectives.

“While CSC Jinling Shipyard has a number of unique requirements, it also shares many of the same technical and business challenges overcome by Aveva customers  in many other industries,” said Paul Eveleigh, EVP and Head of Greater China, Aveva. “This is one of the reasons that Aveva Net has been so successful right across the process plant, power and marine sectors.  Information should be accessible across the shipyard, regardless of the system in which it was created.  The Aveva Net suite of products enables customers to collaborate on critical digital information, by making it accessible to all through a simple, intuitive browser interface.  The result is that the right information is available to the right people, at the right time.”
