Dubai Maritime City Construction Progresses

Development at the Dubai Maritime City has moved forward in the New Year with progress being made in construction of industrial infrastructure works and related support structures/ The scope of infrastructure works well underway with the first ship lift positioned in November 2006 and the excavation for the 2nd lift nearing completion. This activity is critical as it will pave the way commencement of the JADAF relocation and early occupation of the industrial precinct by the JADAF tenants. Additionally, Dubai Maritime City has also recently announced that all reclamation works, the breakwaters and ground improvement works onsite have been completed.

Dubai Maritime City is taking further steps to accomplish this unique concept with several structures on the project also nearing completion. Phase 1 of the Industrial Precinct Workshops and Warehouses which will form a vital part of the relocation of JADAF Dubai to its new location, are shaping up, with significant work having been completed on all aspects of the structures. Piling works for both the 11-level Central Administration Building and the three-level Shiplift Control Tower, that will oversee the complete shiplift facilities, have been completed. Also civil works for the Ship Transfer and Dry Berths and the Staff Accommodation Facility are moving forward at a quick pace.
