Jurong Port - Jetty construction off Stolthaven Terminal

The working period for jetty construction work at Jurong Island, off Stolthaven Terminal, has been extended. The work is now continuing until 30 September 2014.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No. 71 of 2014 dated 21 May 2014, the works are being conducted 24 hours daily - including Sundays & Public Holidays - within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
A) 1 deg. 16.518'N / 103 deg. 39.759'E
B) 1 deg. 16.413'N / 103 deg. 39.611'E
C) 1 deg. 16.495'N / 103 deg. 39.554'E
D) 1 deg. 16.578'N / 103 deg. 39.717'E

Construction of the proposed Jetty 2 will be carried out by piling barges,crane barges and working barges with the support of tug boats. The tug boats will also serve as safety boats.Piling barges and crane barges will be held in position by four anchors.

Piling work will be carried out using piling barge. This is followed by steel and concrete work. The last sequence will be the installation of fendering and mooring facilities.

All craft and equipment will be demobilized from the working area after completion of works.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
(a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
(b) Maintain a proper lookout;
(c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
(d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);and
(e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if
required.
